The FISH OF A LIFETIME Towed Me In My KAYAK!!! (EPIC BATTLE)

My kayak has been rotting in my dads driveway for YEARS. There was an ant farm, plants growing out of it, wasp nest, and it was caked in mud. After many requests to bust the old girl back out, I put my cleaning shoes on, sprayed her down, and got her clean up.. Enough. Loaded her up, and headed down to a MASSIVE SPILLWAY on a big raging river. Arguably, I should have got back into kayak fishing at a small pond or something, but that didn't seem like my style. First trip back out I caught a MONSTER! PAAA POWWW!!!

I'm glad to see you getting back into the kayak again. I used to believe that taking a net might jinx my fishing luck. I lost enough big ones due to lack of a net that now I almost always take one. I found out that there is no bad luck attached to a net. 😜 Nice fish! Thanks for the video Josh!

Hey josh they have these new inventions called a scale and a tape measurer that would allow you to know just how big the fish is!🤣 The net is also a great way to get them in the boat!

As a mostly kayak fisherman (snakes, alligators, mud in Florida can make shore fishing suck), there's never anything wrong with going to shore (or at least shallow) to better handle landing, weighing, and pic'ing a big fish. For the record, my kayak is much bigger than yours and I've never caught anything that big out of it, so nice one!

I'd say it was probably 45 to 50lbs. A real nice one. I never get tired of the flats. I never get tired of anything you catch. As long as you are sticking a hook in something I'm fine with it. ✌️🤟🤘🎣🎣🎣🎣

Oooo-weee 🤘🤘🤙✌️, I caught a 60+, that's what a game warden figured it up as, cause my 50# digital Berkley scale went haywire when I tried to weigh it, but fortunately a game warden walked up about 5 minutes after I landed it, anyhow we measured the length and the girth and figured all that up, and he figured 60+, anyways, that one there looked bigger than mine, if that's any consolation.. good deal though Hoss!

See those big spiky brown flower heads you passed at the beginning? They're called mullein, and the seeds if crushed when put in a stream, will cause fish downstream to float belly up. It's not poison, rather it causes them to suffocate.
