Hey good overall as to how the experience is with these sensors. I've used both the Gen 1 sensors, and the Gen 3. Fortunately, I still had the Gen 1 sensors, and switched back to them. The majority of the issues you are experiencing unfortunately stem from how the new models transmit shot data; High Frequency Sound. The sensors literally emit a sound (like a dog whistle), and your Phone's, or apple watch's microphone literally listens for it. Therefore, the signal is completely disrupted by ANY sound which may disturb or muddy the incoming signal. - I found these sensors are completely unusable on a windy day, or loud environment. I also found that (if using your phone to receive) if your pockets are baggy, the rustling of the phone in your pocket can also disrupt the signal. When using my watch, I had to switch out my sexy (amazon knockoff) metal wrist band for that shitty rubber one it came with and strap it on really tight or else the jiggle/jingle would fuck with the signal. The moronic High Frequency Sound system also requires your listening device (phone/watch) to have its microphone ALWAYS on. 1) This completely destroys battery life. 2) You cant simultaneously use ANY other app that uses sound (ie, you cant play music to a Bluetooth speaker, or take a phone call etc.) The Gen 1 Arccos sensors used a simple Bluetooth signal to communicate shots. Therefore, there is no interference, considerably more range, less battery life used (on listening device), and it DOESN'T CRIPPLE YOUR PHONE WITH STUPID ASS MICROPHONE ON AT ALL TIMES TRASSSSSH. The only downside(depending on how you look at it) of the Gen 1 was that they run on CR2023 disc batteries. For me, I found that the batteries last about 150-200 ROUNDS. I change all 14 batteries once a year when the season starts and never have to think about it again. Especially for those first 100 rounds, at full battery power the shot detection is absolutely insane. I can leave my phone in the fkin golf cart and it will still grab almost all shots AND PUTTS. This was a long post mostly to just SHIT on HOW COMPLETELY TRASH the new generation of arccos sensors are, but to RAVE about how AMAZING the ORIGINAL GEN 1 sensors are. Arccos. Please go back.

I want to like this comment 1 million times! I think you get at the heart of the issue, plus for my the subscription price for an inferior product. All the issues you have described were exactly my experience on course with them! I wish I had the Gen 1 sensors so go back too, maybe I would reconsider it! I hope other people will see your comment. Thanks for the view!

I have 1,900 shots over 25 rounds this year so far. arcoos is a great system. I got the sensors and then purchased the link. This system works great I only have a couple missed shots a round that lets me add them. I use my phone to see the hole and distance I have on every shot. For me the putter picks up my puts you just have to make sure the pin is in the correct placement for the correct distance which is easy at some point use a range finder hit the pin and adjust on the arcoos app. If you don’t have money then yes it’s a lot but the cost is not much at all and I think you get good information about your real distance not distance you think you hit. It tells you how often for your clubs you are short, long, left, right , or hit the green. I am sticking with it. I have the gen 3 sensors, link, and an iwatch that mirrors the app off of my phone. Great system

I got sent some free sensors when I bought my ping clubs recently. To get them it made me sign up for a free trial but did not state what it would cost after. Immediately cancelled - I have a Garmin S62 watch that essentially does all they propose to do on the watch and I don't pay a sub. The watch sometimes struggles to detect short pitches and won't do putts but there is a small 3 sensor bundle you can get for those clubs. I think I might just get those!!

@@punchedgreensgolfThe problem with Garmin watches especially the Approach or Fenix is the Start/Stop button which is the main action button on the watch tends to get 'stuck'. This usually happens 1.5-2 years after purchase and quite frankly, I don't want to be SOL (which I already am at the moment) especially if I bought a $450 or even $700 watch (S70). So it's definitely a double edge sword. So what do you recommend in lieu of Arccos?

Yeah have to agree that this is just cheap and nitpicky. I've used them on 8 rounds in the last month and love them. I bought the Link Pro and just keep it in my pocket. Tracks all my strokes, all my clubs, and it does a good job of tracking my putts. The Link Pro has a "mark the pin" button to get super accurate putt info. It occasionally misses a putt but its easy to just add or subtract putts on the app before you move to the next hole. I have my phone in a magnetic cart mount. Gives me accurate to the center of the green measurements. No more time fumbling with a laser meter trying to get a read, no more writing down score cards. And when I'm done the app submits my round to the USGA for handicap tracking. This is definately worth the price of admission of $12 a month or what ever it is. I got my sensors free from club champion, but since I needed better grips anyways I just got the midsized sensor grips that came with a free year anyways. I'll be passing my screw in sensors off to a friend. And for the "yeah but the link pro is another $220!" guys out there, I literally do not care. It's been worth every penny.
@punchedgreensgolf

Thanks for your comment. In my personal situation, and I'd assume most people, we have to make choices each day on what we spend our money on and what we don't spend it on. I think calling something "cheap and nitpicky" isn't exactly fair as people have to make due with whatever financial situation they are in. Based on your comment, you had to spend $250 extra for the link pro, on top the of the $200 for the sensors and the $159 annual subscription. To me that is MANY rounds of golf and having to spend $250 extra to make the product work, in my opinion is not worth it at all, but to each their own. My video was meant to be a review of my personal experience with it. However, I am glad you are finding success with the Arccos, overall it is a good system when it works and I like the data it provides, but there are pretty alternatives for people trying to get a better value.
@KArione-z2k
@KArione-z2k 8 ай бұрын
@punchedgreensgolf you dont "need" a link pro for it to work. It's for convenience of not having to keep my phone in my pocket during play, it stays mounted on my cart. The sensors were initially free, there are many ways to get them free via ping, club champion, or other manufacturers. Now I did find out my grips are too small, so when I went to buy midsize grips I just bought the arccos ones because they came with the free year I was about to pay for anyway. That being said the average round of golf here is $100 usd before beer and food. It maybe cost me a weeks worth of golf.

😂 💯 FACTS spoken! I had the same experience wirh Arccos too. The sensors are activated by solar which makes them inconsistent. And constantly using my phone to add missed shots (during play), penalties and majority of putts. On top of all that, Arccos wants you to buy the Link clip to have more accurate connections to the sensors and since I'm an Android smartwatch user, a lot of features are missing that the Apple Watch has. I'm gonna probably try GolfPad Tags or Shot Scope Connex this year.

Honestly if the sub was only 5USD or so a month, I'd totally be onboard with this system even if it costs upwards of 300USD to get the hardware. The way it is now though, you are paying something like 16USD a month which as you pointed out adds up pretty quickly.
