Self-fulfilling prophecies: the important thing is to know where you can expect them and where you can't. Some things are affected by your beliefs about them, others aren't.

Great advise. But I guess someone has to tell you the lie to boost your confidence. You can't tell yourself that and believe it. Can you?

Sounds like a skill that people should master. Oh wait I do that everyday to tell myself that I'm not miserable 😂

@@ninjal1750 This is actually a big caveat about sportspeople. They tell themselves the craziest stories to fire themselves up. I'd rather be sane than successful.

well, it's hard to tell yourself statistical information and if you go to inquire yourself, the stats will tell you the truth 😂 beyond the power of the mind/belief, the lesson i'm learning here is that even great players/people have moments of insecurity, whether it be situational uncertainty or lifelong battle with doubt they have to manage.

I actually stop caring about the points and just look at the games like training. If I'm going to lose I wanna use it to work on technique

@Iceman_HSV 😅Thats the method I taught my son, and it worked like a charm. He would be so rigid and nervous during the match, and so upset after the match if things didn't really go his way. Even tho I'm just as nervous while he plays, and upset afterwards, I white lied to him and told him that the matches are just another form of practice and that it was pointless to get nervous or angry since he's not risking anything nor getting paid to win. Just have fun and appreciate that you're improving yourself regardless of the outcome. I was terrified of teaching that mindset, because it would undoubtedly take away a piece of his competitive edge. In the end tho I just couldn't bare seeing him so distraught during and after matches, and feared he'd quit or grow to dislike the sport once he became an adult.

Motivational strategy through positive affirmation and reverse psychology would have helped her to regroup all that she had and knew and as such raised strengths in every way, to dig deep to find her capacities, refocus and winning ways. Sometimes mentally you are able to leap forward from a bad patch to where your capacities are capable with the right hint-challenge from a significant other.🤓🕊️👍 This often works!😄
