These are the kind of playthrough videos I like to see and hear. Perhaps this can finally lay to rest some of the nonsense people keep suggesting about his his playing ability… well, probably not but at least it’s not mega edited. I’d like to think you’ve had some kind of influence with your feedback of his other videos. That would rad.

Fuck yeah, I was hoping you would get around to this video. My first thought when he uploaded was I wonder if Craig influenced him to release some natty playthroughs. I'm suffering from "slipping rib" syndrome at the moment and I'm consuming as much drum content as I can. Keep em' coming and I'll keep on donating. Hopefully your back injury is healing up properly and you can get back on the road. P.S. Slaughter has a pretty crazy live performance.

So here’s the problem - when you play that fast without triggers/sample replacement the kicks get drowned out by the guitars at that tempo. If you do sample replace/trigger then all of a sudden you hear every imperfection and it sounds like shit if you don’t quantize lol.

Why tf would you sound replace the whole drum track when it could sound like this ffs
@BurnTheNuance2 жыл бұрын
I'm assuming it was a decision made by the other members, manager, engineer or a mix of all three. I have noticed through the grape vine that a lot of the sound or mix of a playthrough is out of the hands of the drummer themselves. Of course this is when the video or piece is promoted through the band officially (like the group page, ect.). When it comes down to it the only people who notice the sound replacement is other musicians. The vast majority of fans won't notice the difference so "they" go for a more polished sound. Unfortunately to those who know what they're listening to it can sour the performance.
@spoonerluv2 жыл бұрын
@@BurnTheNuance I think it ultimately comes down to needing a competitive mix relative to the artists that are your peers. Natural drums simply don't make a competitive mix, those fuckers need to be absolute cannons on every hit in the deathcore world. So yeah, it's really out of the drummers hands (pun intended) individually.
@BurnTheNuance2 жыл бұрын
@@spoonerluv I whole heartily agree with that. When it comes to modern day production everyone wants every hit, pluck, strum, and scream to hit as hard as they can. Makes for an enjoyable listening experience for the majority of people and that's what they're gonna go with. Cheers!
@berenjarrett42102 жыл бұрын
@@spoonerluv this "competitive mix" is why every modern metal bands sound the same, while i do love well mixed drums when it sounds punchy and full but to the point where it is physically impossible to pull off even with millions of takes like what's the point?

Ruskie is not necessarily an offensive term, but it's not entirely friendly, since it originated in the military referring to the enemy. It is slang, not a slur. It's certainly not the same as kook or limey. Then again, who GAF. There is nothing you're not "allowed" to say. Stop not being free.

I mean... aside from the accent, 'Russkiy" is basically how Russians say "Russian". Русский. So I would _assume_ it's okay to call them that. It'd be kinda weird if it wasn't, like an American demanding to be called "a citizen of the United States of America" or else be offended. I'd have used a British analogy, but uh... y'all actually _are_ kinda weird about how you're called. Some of you anyway. xD
