I took a look at the AOC 27G2 gaming monitor

I took a look at the AOC 27G2 gaming monitor.
Monitors have had a weird year, so I went looking in to a few different options out there. the AOC 27G2 offers what you pay for, my expectations were not too high - but seeing as it meets the price point I have no real major complaints. Being a bit dim, lacking some interesting features and a hub, having soft colors, and weak presets it's somewhat of a bland option but not a bad option by my account.

where can i find the black scale with numbers to take the test? would you recommend to me this monitor or the BenQ MOBIUZ EX2710S ? I noticed that this AOC in more natural color and more readable detail, than the Benq Is that so or am I wrong?

My videos are no cinematic masterpieces, surely you could find something better to watch! The monitor is in active use by my buddy - he loved it so much he got a second one to dual-monitor with. He is loving it.

Lenovo (surprisingly) actually had one that looked really interesting to me but I didn't buy one (yet). In practice the Gigabyte G24F has been great for me - but has lots of issues for others ranging from coil whine to terrible BLB - but if you get a nice one it's good.

AMD cards work with GSYNC now. Using freesync work's fine on this monitor with a AMD gpu.

What resolution? 1080p either will be fine but I always say go with DP, when DP is available. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HDMI theres a nice chart on here about halfway down that can help you understand which standards/versions (HDMI) are capable of what :) Hope that helps.

What is the USB Hub for? as in since this one doesn't have one

Lets say you have USB speakers, a mouse, a keyboard, a wireless dongle or headset, as well as a controller. They could be plugged in here, and one cable for the hub going from the monitor to a 3.0/3.1 to the PC or laptop. It's just a nice inclusion for either expansion or consolidation of your devices. Especially for laptop users. :)

@@EightSixMatt my laptop doesn't support thunderbolt so I'll only be connecting directly to the monitor via HDMI and connecting a USB HUB to the Laptop for peripherals. But will i need a monitor with USB hub support if I eventually want a multiple monitor setup?

@@Kalengo_Gaming It's not a necessary thing, it's just a nice thing. Its a USB hub like you already have, just built in to some monitors (not this one). All it is is a USB passtrhough/hub in some monitors. I hope that answers your questions. :)

hi my monitor is way too dark, i have a simple generic second monitor that is completely fine, have good colors and good brightness and this one is way darker and have some really bad colors

not really, search it for any solution and all i could found was people saying that maybe its the cable, maybe is the graphic card... I've manage to "fix" it by myself but its not what i expected. its not a bad monitor sincerely, just not as good as i expected @@yahyemo9124

tell me what you mean by xss, all I know that as is a form of attack. Do mean Xbox S? (Edit to add: If you mean Xbox Series S, I believe that console is capable of 120FPS, so yes this monitor can display 120 FPS)

I don’t think it’s bad. Overall I would recommend it for what it is. If you think I should lick it’s boots though, well, sorry that just isn’t going to happen 😁 I think people should explore opinions out there and if you aren’t fond of one opinion keep looking for the ones that tickle your fancy. 👍

yea i got mine yesterday, and this is very bright, not dim at all, literally watching HDR content, even though not supported, literally looks like HDR, and the blacks look really good
