Did Hoover Dam back in 2009 on a 10 day road trip with mates. Hired a 7 seater and started San Diego > LA > Death Valley > Primm > Vegas > Hoover Dam > Skywalk at Grand Canyon > Needles and back to San Diego. They were just building that bridge you were on back then. We were able to park near the damn and walk it. It spans the time zones between Nevada and Arizona. Clocks on each side of the dam, 1 hr difference. Also did a shooting range in San Diego. Fantastic memories 👍

The only reason i didn't go for the helicopter trip was a family of Brits were killed in a copter crash a few weeks before we flew out to Vegas! Had a ball just the same & glad you liked it! Superb, Loved the helicopter ride, it shows how vast this country is. I think it really was a bargain, I've been there a few times and never seen the Grand Canyon from the air. We've been on the Hoover dam and inside where you see the generators, its a real piece of American history. Its amazing how many quirky things you see out in the boonies and miles from anywhere. Get off the strip and there is plenty to do, but it is mainly a gambling place after all.

I regularly travel on helicopters to get to and from work as I work offshore in the North Sea on oil production platforms, not once in 20 years have I ever got bored of them. The helicopters we fly on carry 19 passengers with two crew. Statistically more oil workers have been injured crossing the road on the day they come home (as you tend to forget road sense when your offshore for three weeks) Another cracking video Lee, really enjoyed this one, thank you 😊p.s. @@Tidybitz no there is a difference, oil rigs generally get moved around looking for oil or gas, whilst production platforms are fixed to the sea bed connected to oil or gas wells, where they take the hydrocarbons and process the hydrocarbons before sending to the beach

I loved the song by Walking Hearts featuring Jennifer Holm, ' If I Could Fly' that was played as the helicopter made its way through the Canyon. The HAVASUPAI tribe of Native American Indians live below the rim in the Grand Canyon on their Reservation. Employees of the National Park Service who help take care of the Canyon also live there.

Thanking you so much for the tour my sister and I did a coach tour of the area and vegas was last stop. It’s 2003 in November the canyon was full of mist and cloud so didn’t see much . My sister was going on a helicopter into the canyon it was cancelled because of the weather it snowed. We stayed at the strat think it was cheapest hotel at the time .the only time I felt unsafe was the freemont st . One of our party Was just about to to have is backpack picked And I intervened they did go on helicopter but just-fly the strip I stayed in casino and had fun . Thanks again will show this vid to my sister to show her what she missed you are braver than me ❤❤ and I ushered him away .

Oh yeah , that brought back some great memories of the Grand Canyon when I was a tour guide there in the 90,s . We were camped in Grand Canyon Village ( Adventure camping tours for 18-35,s ) at one of the many campgrounds around the village and did the helicopter rides from the town of Tusayan just outside the south entrance . The tourists were dropped off there and all us tour guides went a little further up the road to another helicopter company that knew what kind of helicopter fight we were interested in ( ie no limits flying , let’s see what it will do kind of flying ) .
