Glad they got over the misunderstanding. She is a really sweet girl, but has the communication skills of a bannana with him. If you're gonna be blunt, there are better ways to phrase it and don't be mysterious about it. She could have just said she liked him and wanted him to herself as a partner to spoil and support. His part was mostly just him being defensive about his situation, especially with that jerk already mesing with him.

I like how humble the FMC is. And it's no surprise that Mei was good and efficient in welding. In the welding field (atleast in SMAW), women are actually more sought after because of how much more stable and calm their hands are which are good for precision. Not that we men can't do it, they just have more stable handwork.

This is the first time I didn’t really like MC, more than the antagonist himself. Mostly because he is making assumptions towards the FMC & thinks everything she did had ill intentions. I know about his pov or because of his background. Still it’s a good story though.

The mc is obviously that those assumptions were wrong mostly because of the frustration that the situation of his family was going horribly due to the decline of his business, that's why any word that came, no matter how little bad intention there was, our MC would have taken it as an attack, in this case it was the FMC that with her comments and the bad streak that the protagonist's family had, the MC himself misinterpreted everything (And did not realize that she did want to be close) adding to the elitist of his classmate who lived insulted him (whether you like it or not it would have affected the trust with that type of people), made him think that the FMC saw it as something for her fun and could not see that she really wanted to be someone close to him, in fact probably if she hadn't gone through a bad streak the protagonists would have become close since high school xd

Well, her communication skills weren't the greatest either. She was just trying to be helpful, but, sometimes it's not what you say, but how you say it that causes the misunderstanding. Like when she asked him about getting full on the bread. If she had just asked if he wanted to eat lunch with her it wouldn't have sounded like she was pointing out how poor he was.

But I don't think it was an insult as such, I rather think that she took it as such because of the precarious situation that her father's business was going through at that time and because of the frustration of the stability of her family, our MC interpreted it as an insult on her part when it was not her intention, although it may also be that being the daughter of a wealthy family (certain words stuck to her and she did not know that certain things can be misinterpreted, obviously she did not do everything with the intention of offending him, since in the end it is seen that the FMC was totally different from the classmate who was elitist and not to mention that since high school she was attracted to the protagonist)

Then let's have lunch together" instead of assuming he was still hungry and imposing her ideal onto him. One thing to note is that Japanese is actually an indirect way of talking, with a lot of inferences (from what I am told) and being direct can seem rude. That said, if she did say "Let me buy you lunch" or anything remotely like that, I think that he would have still taken it like she was lording her wealth over him.
