Hi Scott. Hope you and the family are doing well. We are currently building a home and security wall on our property in Alaminos, Pangasinan. We had to go through several group of workings as we were building the house last year, and finally got a good group of guys to work on it. My mother in law and sister in law were in charge of it while we went back to America. Things work out eventually for sure. We are here only for 2 months this time, we will be back next year for 4 months then the following year full time. Thanks for your videos my friend.

Pangasinan is a nice, easy going, place. Have family there. I’d build or rent in a minute but wifey wants to be closer to Manila.

Yeah Scott, we had that same problem with our workers when having maintenance done on our property at Cebu. I could never understand that as they don't have a lot of money, one would think they would be keen to work. I offered a young guy a job washing my car on a regular basis where i would pay him a good pay. He agreed, but come the first day he didn't show and subsequently he never did.

Don’t know how you are paying your workers but it helps if you pay when its finished or once a week. Never pay in advance for anything. If you agree on a price to do a certain job put it in writing and have them sign it make it clear as clear can be. Yes it sounds like a headache but it will stop the no show problem. What happens most of the time is your job might take longer than they planned for and they have another job that they are supposed to start, so they will jump back in forth while getting paid. It’s a kind of job security thing that they do and it happens everywhere.

Thank you for the good advice. We have done both contract and per day. Most seem to prefer contract and I do also. This current project is contract.

Welcome to your new home with regards to workers. I don’t care how many years I’ve been working for you sometimes they will just disappear the fact of life, but you’re right if you find a good one hold onto them even though they may be a little bit aloof at times

What is this "stock" that you bought? Or is it just a discount plan? Are you carrying some type of health insurance or is this it? Please tell us more about this,
