Wild ride, bud! Had my OT Bigwater 132 on Lake Michigan a couple weeks ago… went from 8inch swells to 3 foot rollers… the yak handled it like a boss but I was ready for solid ground!

I’ve got the same yak. I just got an anchor wizard, a ‘Navarre kayak fishing’ front mount, and ‘da bomb’ anchor. It works awesome

Usually the hook 🪝 is for a trailer when you throw a spinning lure, chatter bait, jig. Ketiech soft plastics has great options bro. Nice video

You can maneuver your yak and adjust your speed to account for those waves so you don't get so many over the bow. Try hitting them at a 46 degree angle instead of straight on, and don't pedal as you go over them, just in between them.

You should pick up a little tenkara rod and some flies. That way you can fish the creeks. I'm just getting into tenkara (I wanted something i could bring on a hike), and so far it's quite cheap and fun ...but a little tougher to find fishing spots.

@@NWTrailSeries Took me a while to find tenkara too. I tried some travel spinning reels/rods, but this is WAY lighter/smaller. I landed on the "Aventik Zeno S2-Glass Tenkara Rod" from Amazon. If you find some good creeks I'd love to see them! I live in Seattle and the fishing scene here is pretty dry so it's hard to find good spots. I've been dying to go MTN biking with the rod and then fish the creeks. Roslyn/Leavenworth look like a perfect places to do a bike/fish day, but the Olympic side also has some trails near some good looking creeks 👍
