It is better to go jaffna by train. There are lot of ancient ruins in anuradhapura, if you are not interested, go straight to jaffna. Try goat milk from jaffna. Super delicious. And rio ice cream. Also go to a hindu kovil. Try their food. Specially dosa (those), string hoppers (indiyappam). They have super delicious curry. Vegetarian shops are there. They have a unique taste when comparing to the other areas in sri lanka

Good that the local bus departs on time. The man who comes around to collect fares is called a bus conductor. I missed travelling in local buses. When you commented about the possibility of leaving Sri Lanka due to the long hours of power cuts, it became hot news and reported in several newspapers in Sri Lanka. Congrats, I think you must be one of the most popular foreign youtubers in Sri Lanka right now. 👏👏👏Fully agree that it is very dishonest of the tuk tuk driver to deliberately take a longer route to reach your hotel with the motive of charging you a higher fare. Great to know that you have decided to remain in Sri Lanka until the your visa end. Looking forward to your coming trip to Northern Sri Lanka. Remembered Northern Sri Lanka is interesting when I watched food review channels in the past. I am sure the locals will be able to recommend to you the interesting places to visit. I saw some comments about Tamil New Year, that is usually on either 13 or 14 April every year, I think there will be some celebration over there.

Hi Ken, If you can, stay in sri lanka till 14th Apr. Because we celebrate Sinhala and Tamil New year on 13th and 14th Apr. You can taste unique foods, unique cultural events in these days. Northern province is good place to stay in new year time rather than southern. They have nice hospitality and few unique and beautiful items. Wish you all the very best!

Be sure to visit Ritigala before you leave it’s just as beautiful as Sigiriya. It’s very close to Anuradhapura where you can see the remains of ancient kingdoms. Get off at Anuradhapura station on Jaffna Colombo train. You can visit Jaffna thereafter. Will need about 3 days to see everything there.

Well, @6:14 the Sri Lankans, and South Asians in general, have this tendency to blow anything negative about their countries out of proportions while pushing down anything positive if something doesn’t align with their culture or political opinions. This is what had happens here. Hi Ken, You could have chosen Highway bus when you travled to Colombo from Galle. Cost is same and the traveling time is about 1 hour. If you are planing to go Jaffna, there are two traveling methods you could select. 1. Train - There are couple of luxury trains departing from Mount Lavinia and Colombo Fort every day. Traveling time would be about 8 hours. 2. Bus - There are lot of Super luxury buses departing from Wellawatte/Colombo to Jaffna every night. Traveling time would be about 8 hours. Even day time you could find few of them. However don't use normal buses as it takes lot of time and the drive will be uncomfortable too. If you have time, try to go to Polonnaruwa which is one of our ancient cities. Cheers. 🇱🇰🇱🇰

Do not leave Sri Lanka before visiting Polonnaruwa, Anuradapura, Ritigala, Dambulla, Sigiriya and Wilpattu national park. If you have time, also visit Arugam Bay, Pasikuda, Kumana & Lahugala national parks in East coast. Train ride to Baticalow will get you there. Not many tourists go there. All these places can be easily covered by train. Just google the railway map of Sri Lanka. You can book tickets online now.

If you are planning a trip to Jaffna, take the air-conditioned train. It's also less expensive, faster, and more scenic.Do not forget to visit Naga Deepa, Kovil, Bottomless Well, and eat at Rolex Hotels and Carnival for ice cream. I'm looking forward to watching more.

By all means take the Intercity express train to Jaffna if available for its the most convenient and fastest way to travel.Your schedule permitting it may be worthwhile if you could make an intermediate stop at Anuradhapura for at least 2 days before continuing onwards to Jaffna. You certainly would find Jaffna much different to rest of the country with its unique culture Enjoy your rest of the stay in our country and hopefully you will carry pleasant memories of Sri Lanka and its people Cheers

Use train for long distance journeys. Since you are planning to travel northern sri lanka, you will be able to book trains. There is a train scheduled on 5.45am from colombo fort to anuradhapura and jaffna. You can book seats in advanced. Just visit to colombo fort train station to book train tickets.

Don´t miss Sigiriya and area around! There aren´t many tourists, of course there are some, but it was minimum comparing to Ella or southern part. We rented scooter and went to Polonaruwa, on the way back met elephants on the road, great experience, highly recommed, maybe to stop by in Mineriya national park, went to Dambulla cave temple throuh local villages, worth spending time there.

Because Colombo is the area with the least power cuts. Therefore, you may be embarrassed to go to the North without being aware of this. Make sure you go to Nilaveli beach and Trincomalee unfortunately it won't be in season. Starts in May. Also recommend Wilpathu national Park and Minneriya if you did not get there previously.

I've watched several of your Lanka videos & understand that you try to avoid well known tourist sites & hotspots. However, before leaving the country, I recommend you visit Seegiriya. It is an amazing place, though you need to be wary of tourist guides. I will make an effort to visit there again when I am next in the country.

I appreciated much your vlogs for whatever the contents are..! I also do like this one too…! Some vlogs did videos with the train trips in Sri Lanka, it s well worth because the seats are comfortable, sightseeings are amazing & it s very cheap! Just we need is relaxed & enjoy the beautiful green sceneries from the train windows..,! Some people even advised to take second class seats because the windows are open, so you can enjoy the fresh air..! First class has air conditioning, you can not open the windows..,! I didn’t try the trains yet but after watching vlogs of some other KZbin loggers, I wanted to try train too..! It looked awesome!!

I would not worry about being overcharged in buses. Public transport here is highly regulated. The only place I would worry about being overcharged would be Tuk Tuks, safari jeeps, an occasional vendor that caters to tourists. Even locals worry about being overcharged by these folks. The Key is to ask for prices from 3 people when you are dealing with them.

Ken please check negembo , kalpana area there are beautiful beaches and you can see dolphins and enjoy different types of enjoyable things. Not much touristic area. But I think you'll be really happy to experience that area as well. Extremely beautiful and not much KZbinrs have been there so it will a good experience. ( North western of Sri Lanka)

When you go to Jaffna, make sure to try Peanut biscuits cookies. you can only find it there and it's really tasty especially if you're a peanut fan. Also 'The Thinnai' is a good hotel that we stayed at and I can recommend it. For good food 'Lavin's Vegetarian Family Restaurant' is a good place and also do try out Rio Ice cream. it is a must

Hi Ken 👋🏻 another pleasant and friendly taxi driver 👍 I love travelling by bus too when the bus route sometime passing through some villages or rural area and even pass by the coastal road , there's so much to see 🤣 furthermore it's comfortable with air condition 👍 the bus fare was cheap. Yeay , you have to be careful , luckily that you asked the tuk-tuk for the charges ? The second guy had his tactics not sure if he did that on purpose but you're faster and smarter 👍👍 nice hotel but slightly expensive for a small room and no coffeehouse , anyway hope you have a good rest and keep us posted 👍🥰
