Yep, I personally have ups and downs. Currently considering leaving a job that is very painful to do but guaranteed rent is what it is. Yep, this movie resonated with me when I first saw it. I went through a 10 year period where I couldn't catch a break. I felt like a car that was being kept in the garage. If you’ve ever been struggling, this movie does such a good job of showing frantic-ness… you can’t ever relax. This is a beautiful movie and the performances are spectacular. I know it’s based on a true story, but I’m not sure how much was added by Hollywood. I will say that if anyone ever considers doing sales in the way this man did - don’t ever make it your only source of income. Make it a side job and get something more stable as the main one. Never put yourself in a position where something like this can happen.

I thought "He has to win". When I watched the next Oscars - he was indeed up for an Academy Award for Best Acor! The Nominees were: FOREST WHITAKER (The Last King of Scotland), LEONARDO DICAPRIO (Blood Diamond), RYAN GOSLING (Half Nelson), PETER O'TOOLE (Venus), and WILL SMITH (The Pursuit of Happyness). FOREST WHITAKER won for The Last King of Scotland which I had seen and he was good ...but I still thought Will Smith SHOULD have won.

3:35 It's not pretentious at all. This kind of mindset is why people who've chased their dreams have to feel uncomfortable about their accomplishments. Imagine growing up with a dream car, you have posters of it on your wall, it's your wallpaper on your school laptop, etc... And then you're finally able to afford one, but society thinks you're a piece of shlt if you buy it... When you're working as a stocks broker, EVERYONE in there is rich. What's the point in hiding it Great reaction though. This movie changed my life. My middle school teacher showed it to us, and completely changed how I pursued my goals from that point on. “The right path is usually the tortured one” If that ain’t the truth. We must not be afraid to go out of our comfort zones and take risks, the ones taken by Chris were way more than just stepping out to your comfort zone, but maybe that’s why his pay off was higher! His wife wanted him to be practical and maybe get a job at supermarket or McDonald’s, who know what she wanted, something easy to get that pays something, Chris wanted to do something big to get his family over that poverty threshold, she didn’t understand that he could accomplish it, which understandable, most people can’t, that’s why most people are in the rat race and not on top Great great movie!
