When doing the plastics, use a bigger torch with a rosebud head, then it'll quicker and more uniform. I've used a propane torch used for roofing, but that might be a little to big in this case

Great video! I like your attention to the small details. Would be nice to see a product that will clean the aluminum exterior of the engine to brighten them back up.

Subbed to see how that kit holds up. I'm running same one in a 15 1000s buggy. Got about 20 hours on it so far. These things are money pits... 😂

Did you get new crank case and head bolts? they are "torque-to-yield" meaning they are designed to stretch a specific amount during tightening and should not be reused once torqued to their specified setting; essentially, they "yield" to achieve the desired clamping force on the cylinder head. The turn them another 1/4 or 1/2 turn part of the procedure is "stretching" them.

When it comes to the plastics use a electric heat gun they don’t get at hot as a flame torch does and are more controllable, as for a fresh rebuild I like to add some zinc to the oil helps lubricant, but you will have to change the oil around 25-50 hours

Good video man, I use a rose bud on faded plastics it works good, but you do have to pay attention are bad things could happen!

These engines only run well for 1500 to 2000 hrs. They will last less than that if you throttle hard all the time. Guess what, no matter how you build it that is my prognostication. If ya'll love working on these engines you are in the right business.

Use Meguiar plastx cleaner polish and a buffing wheel and it will remove the remaining marks and will protect from more oxidation

What do you do with them when you’re done fixing them? Sell? And buy another fixer upper?.

My friend how come you do not wash the engine parts to make them look new

My guess would be someone changed a rod or bearing and didnt do a proper install and caused it to spin a bearing.🤷🏼♂️

I saw this trick on James Condon channel he work on generator and clean the valves by WD-40 and green Scott pad he put the valve in a drill spray wd-40 on the valve and spin the valve and hold pad on the valve if watch his you what I mean you try that on your next engine rebuild.
