I bought my first Rolex in 97 . It was a stainless Submariner Datejust new in the box for $3800 . I was offered $10k for it last year when I was purchasing a new Omega Speedy . I politely declined . I wore the Submariner daily until , while wrenching , welding and anything else . I love it and it was a commeration of my first five years in business and the fact I felt I was successful and stable enough to piss off $4k on something I’d dreamed of owning since I was a kid . I have several “Rollies” now , and all have increased in value substantially . There is even a company/ brokerage now that sells shares of high end watches like stock shares . They are HOTTER THAN A FIRECRACKER right now and no successful car salesman should be without one . Enjoy your videos . Chuck

The Reason for Rolex’s and other watches getting cheaper is because less people are buying them. I myself haven’t worn a watch for twenty years because I don’t need one. The youth of today couldn’t give a toss about a watch like a Rolex because they have Smart phones and Smart Watches. It’s the same thing that’s happening with pre war cars.

I had that exact watch, 2005 with box and papers…. It was stolen three months ago and I did look at the watch you displayed and mine had a different clasp…. As you said, Bob’s is a very reputable dealer and I’ve used it before …I’m picking up my replacement next week…. exactly the same as what you have and what I had and I am very happy with my purchase three years ago in Philadelphia and the new one… I hope you enjoy yours as much as I enjoy mine… by the way I have purchased over 40 cars through Copart and have enjoyed that experience and your videos very much…. You had better hope that's an authentic Rolex. Ive got a friend that's been a Rolex expert for 40 years and i took my fake Rolex Daytona watch to him to see what he thought about it without telling him it was fake. He said everything was spot on appearance wise and it wasn't until he took off the cover and noticed the gears were made of plastic instead of metal. He said appearance wise it would fool practically any expert jeweler.

I did buy a $200 91 S-10 Tahoe Ext Cab from a friends customer so he could make his deal.......I traded it to a guy I knew that did flooring to lay floors in 2 houses I had at the time. He was driving down the road in it one day and a "Hitter" flew out of the headliner and landed on the dash. He told me that story when he was re doing my office at the Fiat/Alfa Romeo store.
