And it’s my fave thing bout him bc now since abuelita has passed he gets to use it in his customer service job and all the people he encounters tho he doesn’t speak it fluently they love and appreciate that he tries. Ok, this is the kind of video I am sooo soo into- seeing people taking in the local vibes and not just doing the typical touristy stuff. The best experiences are going off the beaten path and just exploring and eating at local stands. I can’t stand seeing people just follow other IG trendy must see’s, just to show you were there. Yes, to cat footage, and hearing you speak Spanish. I agree that you have to keep trying even if it obvious you aren’t a perfect Spanish speaker. Try to starting with all the basics, always say these in Spanish, not English. “Soy vegano, gracias, buen provecho (to others), soy de Brooklyn, mi llamo Roberto, permiso, donde es el bano, la cuenta por favor, cuanto questa..” Looking forward to seeing you in Mexico, Belize, and Guatemala! I think this travel series may be your calling!

I'm in Puerto Rico now, I also don't have strong spanish. It's all practice practice. Children learn languages well because they have no shame in their mistakes. We must make mistakes to learn! You should def come to the west side and the Rincon area...it's a lot of fun and very lively, yet more chill and touristy than the San Juan area. Amazing farmers markets & nightlife. However, my fam lives in the hilly areas of the country side. Very serene.

I love to travel and Puerto Rico is on my list. My favourite way to get around is on foot as well. I feel like I get to see all the little thing that you would otherwise miss. I’m Canadian and everything here is far apart, so when I get to a smaller country, it is such a joy to find a city like Rome, for instance that is totally compact and walkable. Do you ever use an app called Happy Cow? Have a wonderful trip, and I will definitely watch all the ads for you. Peace out.

I want to go to PR again! I went with my bf before we went vegan. We mainly stayed in San Juan and we went to old San Juan for one day. But funny part of our day in old San Juan was that I saw a cute, colorful little area down by the beach and I was like omg we should go over there and check it out. We get down there and there was a dude tryna sell us some green but I don’t speak Spanish so I had no idea. I was super oblivious and was taking pictures of the houses and the stray cats. Turns out we weren’t even supposed to be down there and my bfs family and even the people we rented from told us AFTER we went. And then one day we tried to get into the rainforest but we missed all the tours and didn’t have a car. We started walking down a road with a few houses. Out of no where we see one big ass dog standing there and it starts running towards us. I’m a huge dog person but I thought we was about to get eaten. But it just wanted some love. Then MORE DOGS start running out of this house at us! They definitely knew we were dog people LOL
