@@JesseTribby Definitely didn't do it first. This has been sort of a "hush-hush" thing in the community for years, likely because if it got attention then ANet would probably nerf it. I had a pair of core Guardians in my raid guild doing this exact build at the start of End of Dragons. This has been a thing for years.

"1500 Heal it's not a lot" As a healer...true, but that's a DPS-Slot doing it permanently in an area without swapping anything or even thinking about it, while still doing more DPS than the average DPS-Slot with the rotation. So quite impressive.

It is a nice builds but it absolutely doesn't "doing more DPS than the average DPS-Slot". I've take it to a lot of strikes and very rarely I've been higher then #5 DPS. Sometimes even qDPS can outdps this build. But for a 0 APM build - this is pretty good

There's also a dragonhunter variant. (zeal, honor, dragonhunter) Same as you showed with dragonhunter 3-2-2 You have to swap strike sigil -> accuracy, and splash some assassin gear to crit cap. It also hits ~30k, but isn't reliant on resolution

@@Arbeitsmediziner It makes the dps on the build more reliable in open world/pug raids. The build itself does not have high resolution uptime, and a large chunk (15% or more depending on your crit chance) of the damage is coming from resolution based traits.

You can also do 1-2-2 since your really not using the leap to do damage and you do not always need the 25% movement. Expecially if you are just hopping on and off mounts in open world. The extra aegis with blades trap can be a nice opener do drop a burst of damage and block some first hits that tend to be a cc like knockback. It also functions as an extra oh shit button. Sigil of accuracy and rune of the eagle will fix the crit chance issue. This also helps in open world since you can pop blades trap and save yourself shout to keep fury up for the other 25% crit. You can then swap your relic of the brawler for zakiros and if you have quickness you can heal thro extreme damage fields well doing 30k+. It is even better in fractals with the potions buffing the damage you do. If you dont need the extra heals from zakiros then go brawler. In fractals with the potions buffing damage you can get closer to 39k dps with two aegis oh shit buttons. You can use save yourself shout to pull condi onto u and hit the heal skill to heal through it until a clense comes. Hammer 5's light aura with the hammer 1 third hit shoots clensing bolts from the combo field. This allows others to also combo it and clense you. The utility is actually really really amazing. I like having two aegis buttons so if a boss moves away and the leaps on cooldown I can double aegis through damage well getting back into range... since most of the self healing requires hitting a target.

The reason your damage was lower in real fights was resolution uptime. Resolution is a 10% damage boost plus 25% crit chance with the traits in radiance. That's part of why Emi recommended "Save Yourselves" as a utility, but using your heal skill will also help with the uptime.

Fun additional point with this - you dont need alacrity at all for damage (aka, not counting for utility/cc reasons). Makes it really nice in open world (since you can swap in feel my wrath shout for some quick uptime) or in less experienced groups where the alac support is maybe having some trouble keeping 100% uptime.

Like ffs it's goddamn strikes, the boss dies in like 3 minutes, with alac it's like 2:30 oooooohhh you saved 30 sec per boss oooohhh but then most of you people waste 10 minutes+ in LFG when in the same time you can alrdy have killed 3 bosses but no you gotta waste time looking for the most optimized most perfect most booned up group every single time. There's also a deadeye build with two pistols where you leave your unload (3rd skill) on autocast. I'm not sure of the exact dps, but I believe it's about 30k as well.

@@TheRedGauntlet I think my reply with link was removed. Meta battle has Duel Pistol Daredevil for open world then if you read the variants it has fractal and strike there too. Just use thief relic over fireworks because changing it constantly annoyed me for little increases in open world

Actually, in full dragons gear and relic of the thief, this build gets 34k on the golem at 900 range. I made it after watching videos on KZbin and it's that good. You can change a few traits and give quickness in open world for a slight dps loss. This build is my favorite low intensity build.

I remember discovering this back during this year's 4 winds festival and being absolutely blown away how well it was performing even on celestial gear. Absolutely insane. This deals better DPS than my PDPS Soulbeast that I have over like 700 hours on lmao. I really need to work on my rotation, holy moly.

I've made a modified version of this, using the dragonhunter. You lose the big aoe symbols and the aoe heals, but the damage ramps up quicker so it works better on moving targets and you have Dragonhunters virtues and utilities at your disposal.

yeah. I have the Virtue build on my Guardian and it's great as a way to learn fights. i dont have ascended gear, just exotics, and still doing 13k... while hitting just F1. I'd really like to see aNet create builds like this for every profession so that there is something easy for new players (even ones that insta-80 their first character) to obtain. AND i have the Thief build where the 3 is on auto, also great in exotics!

You probly lost damage because you didn't have 100% resolution uptime, you have to use your heal and take a utility to be able to upkeep it for yourself.

I've been using this for months, when I want to do daily strikes and my cat is demanding attention so I can hold and pet with one hand while playing, it's as low intensity as it gets lol. Also use a slightly modified version with staff and scepter/focus for pvp, works up to gold 2 or so. pretty fun.

@@Arbeitsmediziner sure, it's Virtues 1-1-3 Radiance 2-3-3 Zeal 2-2-3. Amulet: 'serker, Relic of Fireworks, Rune of Vampirism. Staff + Scepter/Focus, both sets with Cleansing+Energy Sigils. basically keep them inside smbols, keep an eye on having aegis + resolution +active virtue and nuke away.. melts downed with people trying to rez at same time... forgot utility skills: Shelter, Save Yourselves, Contemp. of Purity, Advance, Renewed Focus

you did briefly mention this build being used in harvest temple cm, it has been done with 10 of them although that is entirely a meme run done by people who know the fight very well, I personally would not recommend playing this build if you want to play htcm since higher dps does make that fight easier and the added challenge of learning a dps rotation will be less than the added challenge of the fight going on for longer

Ascended armor and infusions are necessary to max the damage, but with exotic gear you should be fine for 26 or something. Exotic hammer is not even a big problem as most damage comes from the symbols, not the weapon hits. Don't forget you can get the hammer from the wizards vault ascended weapon box!

There are several times in your video where you do not have resolution. This is why your DPS in reality was much lower, and why the dragonhunter version is superior (same dps, no boon dependency).

tl,dr: if a build guide uses +5 precision infusions, they are mandatory, if they use any other infusion, they are not needed. Generally, the only infusions that are mandatory if they are used on a build are precision infusions. Not running power/condition damage/expertise infusion is roughly a 3% dps loss, not running needed precision infusions means you aren't at 100% crit chance, which some builds (berserker, virtuoso) require to function.

this reminds me of the Paladin in World of Warcraft, where you can tank end game bosses afk. i dislike when a class is designed like this and no other class can do the same thing. i'd be happy if there was a build for all the classes that was like this. i hope ArenaNet either changes this interaction the Guardian has with the hammer, or gives the other classes something like this they can do.

if you have healers and boon dps that are playing the game them it's actually very achievable for this to happen, but them all dps builds would lose a lot of damage without those boons, some build like power reaper don't lose as much dps compared to other builds, but you will always lose damage if you don't have boons

People with difficulties don't need these types of builds to be able to play the game. They only need low APM builds, which we already have. No need for them to also be reaching top DPS or anything I play with a lot of older folks, and I'm talking ages 70s and up. They play throughout the spectrum of classes and even some competitive gameplay like WvW. They mainly play the low APM builds but also dabble in more complex ones like elementalists or mesmers, because even those classes actually have easier forms. Yet they're not playing builds like this, as they don't need to. So no, these builds are not actually necessary and are more representative of how atrocious this game's balance is in terms of combat. Not really something to celebrate.

It’s not as effective in a lot of content where you can’t consistently complete the AA chain. But it’s a good build for those who play casually or have disabilities but still want to complete meta events and see the easier forms of the games content.
