Well in the West basic hygiene hasn’t really caught on yet. (60-70% handwash after toilet and Netherlands is lowest with 50%) Sooo. For anyone wondering why we have to be in lockdown during this pandemic while esp HK and Taiwan are quite fine.

It also really depends at least here in 'Murica. I have a lot of cosmetician friends who say it really depends on your expense level. My friend Anna does these $300 USD scalp and hair treatment massages, but I have no idea if they are this intense or in depth because, if we are being honest, it is against my religion to spend $300 on my hair. XDDD

as someone who lives in the west and is currently going to beauty school, i have to say that scalp treatment and care are also a thing here -- just not as big, and that's because it's expensive and it tends to be more focused on long term results. people want instant results, so here we tend to focus on taking care of the hair shaft more commonly than the scalp. one of the very first things i learned while starting the hair care segment at school was how to properly wash hair, and let me tell you that it absolutely does make a difference. our teacher emphasised a lot that even the way that you massage your scalp in the shower should be tailored to your type of scalp. oily: massage the scalp in long, diagonal strokes; dry: massage with circular strokes. there's also plenty of scalp care products, but they tend to be more high-end by brands like alfaparf and paul mitchell, and they work really well -- but people don't want to buy them because they're not exactly accesible. i think one of the failing points we as beauticians fail at here in the west is that we don't educate our clients enough on how to take care of their hair and skin enough. maybe it's because we tried it once, the client ignored our recommendations, and so we decided to never mention it again. but if we taught more people how to take good care of their skin and hair, not just for beauty puporses, but health-wise too, i think a lot of people would benefit immensely and save a lot of money on gimmicky products that don't treat the root of their problems.

Can you start a KZbin channel? I know we can't do a lot of the treatments that can be done at the salons, but I would love to learn about basic hair care that can be done at home from a professionals point of view. I've always asked the professionals that have worked with my hair on how to care for it in the longer term, but they always gave me the quick solutions, e.g. "this product can be used to bring volume," or just dismissed the questions.

This topic is such a current concern of mine! I passed by a salon that was offering a scalp cleaning treatment a few weeks ago. I was intrigued because I learned that an oily scalp leads to thinning hair, which is probably the reason for me. But I didn't hear of that procedure before and they didn't put much info there so I was still hesitant. Your experience just motivated me to give them definitely a call! Love your videos entertaining and informative ❤️. And that entry of Okamotosan was like in an anime or drama, haha so funny and cool.

The massage looks really relaxing but essential oils shouldnt be used anywhere near the face or eyes especially in steam. Big risk of an allergic reaction, rashes, chemical burns and respiratory reactions.
@AdventuresOfMoi4 жыл бұрын
If they're pure, natural essential oils, then it's fine. It's only when they're not 100% pure, and have chemicals mixed in to make it cheaper, then it's not okay to use. x
@AdventuresOfMoi4 жыл бұрын
Blue Sargent that all depends on the person? Too much of anything can cause irritations depending on the individual. Some people are more sensitive to essential oils than others. If you know you’re sensitive, then don’t use them. But that’s not even what the OG comment was about. I was responding to the allergic reactions, rashes, chemical burns, and respiratory reactions comment.100% Natural oils DO NOT produce those side effects (unless you’re allergic to the specific one). Irritations/sensitivity? Sure, if you’re sensitive to begin with. So next time, read the context before responding, bud. :)
@miya81984 жыл бұрын
@@AdventuresOfMoi That's not true at all, 100% natural essential oils can and do produce these side effects. Natural does not equal good or safe.
@miya81984 жыл бұрын
@@xionmemoria You can develop allergies later in life and over time with repeated exposure to something and many people don't know that they have an allergy until it's too late. With so many reports and studies of reactions to essential oils from professional doctors and dermatologists and no proof that they are effective, best not to take that risk at all. Skin is very good at hiding when it’s being irritated. So, even if you don’t see a reaction, the damage is still occurring beneath skin’s surface, cumulatively leading to problems you will see later on. Irritation is aging.
@theorganicfrenchmom-midori30914 жыл бұрын
This is absolutely false. They also use it as a hair loss treatment here in Canada. It’s very popular. Some essential oils are amazing for the scalp & dandruff. And you can actually buy many shampoos & beauty cream with essential oils in them.
