Thanks for sharing your experiment results. If you are going to drive your own traffic you may as well drive it to your own website. I’ve heard that the Etsy listing score is not boosted from outside sharing anyways. But I wouldn’t know for a 100% if that is true. I love that you included the printing details and your booth photos! Very cool.

I do generally drive my own traffic to my website and not Etsy. I just did it for this one test to see if it would make a difference. And in my split test, it did make a difference in search ranking to drive outside traffic. But only for a very short time. So you’d have to keep driving outside traffic constantly to have it help you. i’m not willing to do that because I would just send them to my website which is better for me as a seller/artist.

I know exactly who the etsy guru is. She has a very specific point of view with some good advice, but it doesn't work for all businesses, so I'm not really surprised it didn't work for you. I'm definitely not an etsy guru at all (I barely have 100 tshirt sales), but if you're open to suggestions, you might want to look at niching down. For example, what if you tried something like, Cat Art Print for Nursery, for example, to reach new moms. Or Cat Art Print for College Dorms, or Cat Art Print for Teacher Gift. The keyword, "gift for cat mom" was showing 7 days later, because it was niched down for a particular audience -- cat moms. Just a suggestion! Loved the video and hearing about your experience!
