Sorry, I had to comment but sharks are NOT attracted to human blood, especially period. I work in the ocean almost everyday and I dive with sharks, with my period or not. I want to say this to be clear that sharks are harmless and is more afraid of us than we are to them. Shark attack happens mostly to surfers because they look like turtle, sea lion or fish food, they would bite us but once they taste human blood, they let go. That is when victims die of blood loss but never "eaten" by sharks. Our blood is actually revolting to them. They are attracted to fishes. Please, sharks are nice. People are killed by selfies more than sharks annually.

Shinx002 chances of you getting bit by sharks is very very low. Look it up at the statistics. Esp if you're going shallow areas as well. This too doesn't mean we should completely avoiding the ocean. I'm just saying that going into the ocean does NOT matter wether with period or not. It's completely different from hanging a meat bait infront of a lion. Swimming in the ocean with your period is like hanging vegetables as a bait to the lions/tigers.

I've tried the bikini bottoms before. I wore some black athletic shorts overtop, and I like the bikini bottoms. Good product. Shorts covered up the "inflation" of the middle part. The only thing that I don't like, which Safiya mentioned, it takes a long time to dry

From my experience with swimming with a pad on, it has never “blown up like a balloon,” or anything like that. It’s just flattened onto my body unnoticeably and continued on with its job and a few minutes in it‘s completely ignorable/doesn’t affect my swimming. I do wear shorts when I swim though, so that might affect the results.

I have period bathers as I’m a swimmer and am kinda scared of tampons 😂 I have the black bathers and a patterned one and in my experience it’s a lot harder to tell that your wearing period bathers if you wear the pattern one but even then you can’t really tell with the black one. I would suggest not wearing it as underwear and wear a pad while walking and get rid of it when you get to the water if that is possible. Sorry this comment is 2 years late 😂

go for tampons, they aren’t as scary as people think. at first it will probably hurt or feel uncomfortable but then you’re fine your next period or even a couple days after. life saver

Tampons are great! Down there is very flexible, so don’t be afraid of the size of the tampon + I suggest the ones with a dispenser, they are easier to handle. Once it goes in, you don’t feel it. Don’t be scared of how far it goes in either. When you sit, U might feel it a little bit, but it shouldn’t be painful. Tampons are amazing 10/10 would recommend! They make ur period a lot less stressful once you figure it out. It can take time, but it’s worth it in the end! It’s not scary at all! It just takes a bit of patience and practice! You can watch videos on about it almost anywhere, and don’t be afraid to ask relatives or close friends for advice!!!

polly h hmm, just make sure you kind of seperate the skin around the hole so it can atleast have easy access. Then, its better when your on your period, so that it can slide in. make sure the plastic dispenser goes in first to about the connecter between the part thats inside and the skinny plastic piece, and tampon itsself. and the you push the skinny plastic piece, and the once you cant push it anymore, you just take it out and you should see a string only. Make sure it goes in all the way. you can tell it in all the way if you dont see the thick thread that prevents leaks. If it does go in, dont take it out yet. You have to wait about 2-3 hours to take it out, or else it will really hurt because of the dryness of the cotton. I hope i explained this well! 🙏🏻💜

I was at school and I went to the bathroom and there was a younger girl in one of the stalls crying, I knocked on the stall and asked what was wrong she was all upset and was like "I'm hemriging I'm gonna die" i almost laughed then I felt so bad for her because obviously nobody had ever told her about periods so I explained to her what a period was and took her to the office... but yeahhhhhh idk why I felt the need to share that🙃

it isn't a question of liking them. The issue is that sharks become aggressive at the scent of blood, and if you're on your period you are bleeding continuously (their sense of smell is also much better than ours, so even if you don't smell the blood they will). So, if there are sharks close to the beach, as is the case on beaches in the Pacific, it's generally a bad idea to go into the ocean on your period. On Atlantic beaches this isn't a concern because sharks have to stay much farther out. Of course, at the Great Lakes, there are no sharks at all.

Kulie Saw these can still be nice to have if you’re planning on wearing a bathing suit outside of the water, like if you were going to be sunbathing or wouldn’t be getting immediately into the water or needed to wear your swimsuit underneath your clothing for convenience reasons (like say, walking around a theme park and not wanting to change in public) But if you’re going straight into the water and won’t be spending too much time just standing around then there really isn’t too much to worry about like you said. The only time I’ve ever had an embarrassing incident involving not wearing a pad or tampon with my swimsuit was when I was camping at a lake and after 24+ hours of just spotting my period decided to come back full force as I was swimming and I had to walk back to the campsite with a red trickle down my leg

Wing Huang :( I went to a water park once for a birthday party that I couldn’t back out of at the end of my period so it wasn’t heavy but there was definitely something there and I was internally freaking out the entire time and I didn’t have any actual products so I did the classic sixth grade toilet paper pad with the insanely thin park paper that dissolved almost immediately when wet and all in all it wasn’t a pleasant experience
