Yes because I visited a hair dresser in New York, well known I might add and she was rude, disrespectful and I asked about hair care and she gave me nothing. She said she didn’t know she would have to do my hair on a regular basis. I will never go to her again. $180 for a wash n go. Btw it looks terrible.

Girl...I have high porosity 4C hair, I've just had to accept wash & gos aren't apart of my ministry. This video just confirmed it for me cuz she's a bomb hairstylist, but i know my hair lol. As soon as my hair dries all that definition dissapears no matter what products were on it cuz my hair aint tryna hear all that it wants a "wash and stay wet" 😂
@HustleWright7 жыл бұрын
girl me too. i swear my hair is more picky than i am when it comes to food. my hair just dont wash and go.....it will get dryer than death valley. if it aint a good moisturizer my hair dont want it.
@whyyoureadinmyname51457 жыл бұрын
EXACTLY Im a high porosity 4c too. my hair looks like a Jerry curl after I put a whole jar of gel on it, but as soon as it dries it goes bye bye. I thought I was the only one. Plus it looks ugly thin and cripsy with little definition left. I remember I put a whole jar of gel in my head wasted about an hour or 2 then I dried it, and I looked at my hair in the mirror, I was like oh heck nah. I had no body, no thickness, no moisture, my hair look like it died. I washed that wash n go our of my hair so fast.

Find something that will weigh down those 4c floating tresses. I use a lot of gel and castor oil. Then I re-wet my hair and add more product, if necessary. It weighs down my hair and defines my 4c curls like crazy. It's all about weighing down those tresses. Weigh them down!!!

I feel like “wash and go” is such a misnomer! It make the process sound like it’s all easy and fast. It’s not. Even for 3c hair. It take TIME. Not just the time it takes every week to make it happen. It took me 20 solid YEARS to figure out which products and order would work for my hair. Please cut yourselves some slack if you’re feeling like you’re “failing” at the wash and go. You are not failing! Feeling like that is just unfair to yourself. I do the wash and go because, well, when I went natural I didn’t have anyone to look up to... But also because it is faster for me than a twist out. And I like how it looks. Trust me, if it were not for that, I wouldn’t bother. Also, Gel. Gel, gel, gel.
@chrisallen19347 жыл бұрын
Mr. Magoo Consider what it was like 20 years ago when I started out. There was no KZbin. There were NO PRODUCTS designed for natural hair on the market. Even Carol’s Daughter, which was just a small shop in Brooklyn at the time, didn’t have ONE styling product for natural hair. There were NO role models. I was on my own, even living in New York City! Hair stylists didn’t know what to do with my hair, besides give me a texturizer or insist I get a straw set. How would you do with nothing but Paul Mitchell and scorn to help you through?? So as products came out, I tried them. All of them. And my hair looked great. But figuring out my perfect wash & go? Yeah, that took 20 years. I was at the forefront of the natural hair movement. You’re fucking welcome.

Lavida Loves Curls Despite the negativity, I appreciate your attempts to explain what is needed for hydrated hair. I would love the simplicity of wearing wngs, but I have never been able to master them. I have dense, highly-porous, fine strands with small coils. So videos like this one are of interest to me. IMHO, those who don't ever want to wear a wng, fine. Just go view other videos of other styles instead of taking up space wasting the time of people who may actually want to learn this technique.

You can't expect your hair coming out like a 3c or something if your hair 4c than it's gonna come out 4c again just more define I feel like people do the wash and go so it can look looser and it also it depends on the heath on your hair just putting it out there cause people expects there hair to come out loose and flowy and no strinkage I like how your wash and go turned out tho

Lol I did my first successful wash n go yesterday! My problems were I didn't use enough gel and I didn't put it on my entire strands. 🤦🏿♀️ Idk what made me think to only apply gel to my ends and not the roots. 😂 But I did it right for once and most definitely will continue.
@trishblack49936 жыл бұрын
Yur hair looks great! I have the same hair texture. I have a tip for you to do it yourself without all the fuss. First, the products you use make a huge difference. The products this stylist uses leave too much moisture on your hair before adding the gel so it doesn’t define your curls well. 4c hair is super curly. Step 1: Wash your hair as usual, deep condition with a steam cap, not hair dryer. Detangle your hair really well while the conditioner is in. Rinse and moisturize lightly with a butter. Oil your scalp lightly as you section your hair into at least 16 parts, more if you like. Be sure to put in the part you now so you are not moving your hair after it is styled. Step 2: get a spray bottle ready with just water. Gather your clips and a wide toothed comb. Final magic, eco gel...the one in the black container works best for me. Start just above the root of your hair and work your way to the tips, add more gel to the tips to ensure it is well moisturized. Do not add all the gel at once, so you don’t have build up on your scalp. Use your wide tooth comb to separate the strands and release. Coil your ends if you see frizz. If not in a rush, let it air dry for best results. Super important to let your hair air dry at least half way before using a diffuser attachment to finish it off if you’re in a rush. Do not touch your hair with the dryer. Do not touch hair or lay flat until it is dry. Sleep in a satin cap and this could last up to two weeks or more.

Child please. Try the original Maximum Hydration Method. I used to think I could not do Wash and Go. I told everybody it wasn't for me until I did the original MHM. I also got rid of a bunch of hair products. Please note that some of the most toxic products are used in hair products designed for African American hair. I now used more natural stuff, including clays and such. I still used the Kinky Curly Detangler and Gel. They are not cheap, but then I am also not buying all that other garbage that was breaking my hair and wouldn't allow it to grow. I am also using ayurvedic herbs and oils. The amount of breakage I experience now it minimal. In my picture you can see the length of my hair a little after I started the MHM. After 1 year, the hairs you can see in the front are to my lips, unstretched and in twist.

I feel like Chizi has a lot of hesitancy, my curl pattern is looser, but there is this general feeling of beating your hair up and going to town. You're not ripping your hair out, it's detangled, it's more about going for it, getting an even coat, and doing it in an efficient way so you don't cause more frizz.
