Try putting on the conditioner on first before the oil so that the conditioner can get into the hair. The oil coats the hair therefore the conditioner cannot effectively penetrate the hair.

I also use this LOC method for my wash and go. I just choose to not sit and let it dry. I go with it wet and let it dry as time passes.

It's less than 20 mins if you let your hair air dry and 5 minutes the following days until the next wash day usually 3-5 days.

That part about breaking the gel cast was EVERYTHING! I tried a wash and go, and I was like this is a wash and HELL NO! It felt all hard, dry, and I was looking crazy. The one thing I would take out, is the bonnet. You can create a cute style with the scrunchies stretched along the hair, but just leave the bonnet OUT. All it does is flatten otherwise perfect curls. Your curls will bounce back (pun:), so much faster, if that thing is left out. 🙏🏽🙏🏽 The part about how to “uncrunch gel”, was great. I’ve done that, but didn’t realize it was a method:).

I think it helps if you have a jumbo sleep cap, like for braids. If it's too tight, it'll definitely press down on the curls

Do you recommend using the products you use and can you recommend any others that they may be similar if they're not accessible? I know some sisters use lime Castor oil to seal their hair after co-washing with their favorite product. That's a good question to ask her. I usually spray a little warm water on mine to reactivate the product already dried up in my hair and run my fingers through. The curls come back to life🤗

We have the exact same routine even the settings for the diffuser lol. I feel the banding method not only elogates the curl but adds some volume too. So each morning with the take down your hair gets bigger and bigger.

My hair gets super frizzy and dry when I use oils because I have low porosity hair. I stopped using them and just use a leave in + gel and my hair has never looked better.

12 May 23 Friday I just wanted to get back with you to let you know that my wonderful sister sent me a diffuser attachment for my ionic ceramic Revlon hair dryer! So today I did your wash and go routine and all I'm waiting for now is for it to air dry a little bit and I will come back tonight and do the diffusing! I cannot tell you how so very excited I am! My hair is beautiful and curly right now and like you said there is a little bit of shrinkage but not too much. And I am loving these defined curls! I can't wait until the takedown in the morning!
