Aside from the Turkey wings, Jollof rice and the stew on the menu which are all definitely West African staples, it seems to be more American soul food with all the mac and cheese and whatnot. I suppose it is a fusion kind of gaff to appeal to a wider audience? Either way glad to see Danny broaden his foodie horizons. Would love to see you try some Ethiopian injera!

Have a family owned Caribbean restaurant just two blocks away from home and they serve a box like that. Big plantain fan because of them and they have a chili salad that is just incredible, along with oxtail & jerk chicken

@@albionswede have you ever eaten there? No, you haven't. I have been there many times, and I can give further context from experience, not just by watching somebody else's video. The meat is tasty but overcooked for my liking so I never get it. The stars of the show are the rice, plantain, and Mac and cheese, all of which Danny said were very good. I suggest if you are in the area you try it. You will be surprised. By the way, I have to travel nearly an hour to get there and I still go every couple of months. It's worth the 2 hour round trip.

Caribbean food is the bomb, but it’s also expensive in New York. I went to a street fair and it was 20 bucks for some jerk chicken and pigeon pea rice. Was very good though, but really too expensive. Snapple peach iced tea is my favorite for what you paid for it I can get 64 ounces.

Believe it or not if prawns are cooked properly you can actually eat the shell and it contains chitosan which lowers cholesterol, I've not tried it myself and i think they are usually deep fried with cornstarch but i prefer to remove the tail shell prior to cooking to also de-vein them (removing the poop)
