I like to picture the Bully part as if they were characters in old fashioned cartoons like Looney Tunes and Tom & Jerry, tricked into running off the edge before plummeting to certain death. Edit: I just realized that 99% of the time characters don't die in those cartoons, so they probably just got sent into the sky from the recoil of the heat, hence why you don't see them come back for the following shine. They flew off to another part of the ocean somewhere to get their rumps extinguished

Hey nico! I have a slightly controversial way to further reduce violence. In the fury bowser fight you can pick up spikes and you don’t need to throw them at bowser. You could pick up a spike and just “stand there” then bowser would run into you and get damaged without you commuting any “violence”.

4:30 You are wrong, you CAN get these shines while Bowser is active. See how there was a brief moment while he is arriving where the cats are still transforming? Well, if the final kitten gets close enough to the mother cat before the transformation completes, the cutscene for the Cat Shine will play and prevent the transformation by removing Bowser (unless this is your hundredth Cat Shine, since he will instantly return and they will just transform again).

I've actually tried this myself with Mario Galaxy, Galaxy 2 and I'm currently attempting Odyssey. Instead of counting the amount of hits, I just count the enemies and bosses that have to be defeated. So far, I beat Odyssey with very few enemies defeated, with the exception of the necessary bosses. I'm just trying to 100% complete the game now this way, simply because I feel like it lol

Some other non-violence you could practice is watching Fury Bowser kill enemies. If anything, you stopping him is justified, as you will bear witness to him slaughtering countless innocents. He doesn't hurt Gooey Luigi, though, so he still locks certain Cat Shines. A controversial option would be throwing baseballs at him in an attempt to play catch, but that feels a little too close to violence (and I don't know if his health would stay down while you leave to get another ball).

If you get to a group of marching postbox guys (whatever they are), you can let them hit you. It's not you being violent when they hit you, also their walking patterns will just get messed up and they will walk randomly (that kinda reminds of Super Mario Bros, the goomba's reversing when they hit you). Also next you should do it with Super Mario World, that also includes not whipping Yoshi. (500th Comment BTW)

Technically if a shine isn’t set to be one of the 5 you get from the islands it doesn’t count as damaging fury bowser so actually that shine and the others that aren’t attached to an island are possible

I think this video should be renamed to “Is it possible to beat Bowser’s Fury without DIRECT violence?”. All of the occasions that Nico counted as “violence” were scenarios where he made Mario do something to DIRECTLY harm an enemy. Indirect violence, like the lighthouse and the flipping platforms, were all examples that Nico didn’t count as violence. I know he mentioned that at the beginning of the video, and I’m not trying to hate or diss anything or anyone about this video, just giving constructive criticism that I think will cause less controversy.
