Fun fact: proxies are actually worse if you're only planning on using a single account for botting since they're more suspicuous than residential addresses. Also most botters that do it for money just do basic skills, turn it into gold then trade that gold to a non-bot mule who'll hold onto it when the account inevitably gets banned. You never want to train agility or woodcutting using bots since those two are the easiest to detect and if you truly want to invest in botting then designing your own private script is the best way since most of jagex's bot catching is done by knowing how the bot code works and configuring their client to be able to detect it, something that is impossible to do with privately owned code.

when we buy gold do we have to do it with trading or is there another way?
@JamesDoesThings Жыл бұрын
Hi, good question; when I say "Buy Gold" in the video I mean buy in-game gold with real money in the real world, ie go to a site like eBay or Player Auctions and buy $10 worth of OSRS Gold which you can then use to buy equipment or a Bond (access to the premium content and servers). If I was trying this again I would buy some OSRS gold and then use it to buy a bond at the Exchange in the game because it would open up a lot of different ways to make more gold / level up faster / get better items. ie spend $10 to make maybe $50 - $100s depending on how much time you put in. Hope this helps. Good Luck! :)

what should we bot in free to play to earn a bond?
@JamesDoesThings Жыл бұрын
I found that the most viable tasks on F2P were levelling up gatherer skills, scavenging wood and ash around the GE or other banks and then doing progressive combat botting (first chickens, then cows, etc) but if I did it again I would go to somewhere like player auctions and buy the bond (or enough gold to buy it in-game) and do it that way as it is much faster and less likely to get you banned. Good Luck!

Hi, I didn't find any botting systems which were 100% free, but there might be some. There are plenty of free scripts for different botting clients, but I was banned within 1 hour of using my first free script, whereas I had been working well with premium scripts up to that point. Good luck!

if we sell the account than what happens with the email adress that we created?
@JamesDoesThings Жыл бұрын
When I tried botting, I made a new gmail account for each OSRS account. that way the email account could also be sold as part of the transaction. I think google deletes unused email addresses after 2 years, so you could just sell the account and let the email be recycled in due course.

Whilst in the the process of making this video did you consider creating your own scripts for the osbot client to circumvent some costs and to speed up the early babysitting parts of creating accounts? I'm not sure if you have any experience coding in java, just stumbled across your video/channel for the first time. Subbed, nice vid!
@JamesDoesThings Жыл бұрын
Thanks @Natrat101, no I only have a tiny bit of coding experience and I have never touched Java so it didn't even cross my mind. Moreover, the tutorial material I consumed before starting told me to stay away from free / amateur scripts and I ignored this advice and instantly got banned on every account I used it on :( OSBot has a whole community of people who make scripts (free and paid) and I did use a tutorial island script to begin with for some accounts.The most expensive package from Bottinghub has an accountmanager feature which creates the accounts for you in a 'safe' way but I heard several people recommend buying manually started newbie accounts from playeracutions for $5 because they were less likely to get caught. One of the theories about bot detection is that it starts from day 1 and checks your IP, location, behaviour in tutorial island etc. Several of my characters were approached by bot-detection NPCs which kept offering me free food and asking me questions, especially when I was doing a lot of mining or wood cutting. Thanks for the sub!

@JamesDoesThingsАй бұрын
That video is somewhat ironically one of my best performing videos, despite being one of the worst conceived / edited that I've made. I suspect that it's popularity is down to it being an under-served niche - there aren't many people willing to talk about it publicly and maybe that's because it shouldn't exist, but it does and I tried it, so I thought I'd make a video. I don't regret trying it or making a video about it, but I wouldn't bother trying it again with that game or any other and I would much rather spend my efforts and time in the future on actually creating something myself, rather than subverting someone else's creation. I've had grief from botters who say I was doing it wrong and also from OSRS purists who said I shouldn't have done it in the first place and both are probably correct.

Bro... osbot doesn't work for me.. I had bought some scripts yeeears ago... I think it's because i linked my Jagex acc
@JamesDoesThings Жыл бұрын
yes I think that would cause trouble - I tried to play it extra safe by using a VPN to create emails and open my accounts (still in the UK but not my own IP) and then I used the proxies I paid for to run in OSBot. I didn't link my accounts or do any of the security stuff in game, I just used the email to sign up and then played like that. Having seen some of the comments on this video, it would appear that there are a lot more options, such as using plugins for clients etc which are easier / less risky if you are only doing it on one account at a time. Good luck!

can we bot free to play as well?
@JamesDoesThings Жыл бұрын
Hi, yes I was botting F2P exclusively, but this was probably my biggest mistake as it hampers so many aspects of the botting method which I was using so I don't recommend it. If you can afford a paid client, proxies and premium scripts then it's worth spending a tiny bit more on a bond for the premium game content too, as you will make it back a lot faster than if you stick to F2P. Good luck!

Hi @KenGaming3000, thanks for watching. I'm afraid that I had to google what half of that meant, but I can see that there is potentially a big advantage to using a client. I was vaguely aware that RuneLite has a lot of beneficial plugins but I didn't really look into the scale of them and how big of an advantage they can give you. I was planning to get back into making things for Roblox next, but this seems like in interesting rabbit hole to fall into .......... ;)

@@JamesDoesThings I can help you out if you like! Basically, clients generally on a modified version of runelite that was banned back in 2022. This modified runelite was called “openrs” and was way more powerful than runelite and also had so many quality of life features. The current “clients” have since taken openrs due to it being open source and modified it to avoid detection. These clients offer full fledged botting in some cases but also plugins that will change your prayer for you to whatever you’re doing, even end game bosses/raids. Other features: auto eat if your health drops below a threshold you set, gear swap: will equip up to 9 pieces of gear in 100ms, auto dodge, overlays showing you where to stand/where not to stand, and the list goes on. It’s such a big problem that people don’t talk about enough. A ton of high end pvmers use these client along with steamers and skills. The rank 2 player during the race to kill all 4 of the new bosses in their hard mode version was caught using a client but only because he self incriminated himself by sharing a screenshot which in the chat had a notification that he was using automatic prayers. The list goes on but if you’d like help via sharing information, demos, etc please let me know! Even if it’s way in the future:) There’s so much more i can share my man!

Thanks for the comment and pointers, I really value them, but since I made this video and actually tried playing the game properly with a bond, I honestly I think it's better to just play a game you enjoy or create something (like a game or maybe a bot) than get deeper into the world of trying to outsmart the devs and ultimately unbalance the game economy. I tried playing properly and it was addictive at first, but then the grind was so bad that it didn't feel fun any more so I decided it was more productive to do something constructive (or at least, less destructive) and play a game I liked or make my own games / videos / eBay listings etc. Good luck, whatever path you choose :)

@JamesDoesThings4 ай бұрын
@@jkrules4161 Fair point, but the reason is that the videos I made about botting and selling in-game items are the ones I get the most comments on, so I made the videos more to answer questions and because of updates to what has changed on eBay and also the things that I missed when making the videos. I haven't done any botting or selling of in-game items for ages. As far as the economy in the game goes, I'm not sure I've seen a popular MMO that didn't have an economy which wasn't dominated to some degree by outside forces, so I'm not exactly poacher-turned-gamekeeper either - I think if you have an MMO this type of problem is a nice problem to have because you have made a successful game :) I think it can be a problem if left unmanaged though, as people can get fed up if there is a big disparity between the The Grind / Pay to Win / Black Market. When I played WoW back in the WotLK days it was all "oh FFS China bots everywhere WTF" and now with OSRS I think the bots come from everywhere and there are also lots of real people in places like Central America where the ACTUAL economy in their country has gone down the toilet and there are people who can make a living selling hand-reared and/or botted characters and gold in OSRS. Ultimately I don't want to be judgemental about it because I can see (and have tried) both sides, but I did catch myself thinking "wtf I am doing this for?" and thought maybe I should be putting my creative juices to make a game, rather than abuse someone else's. Thanks again for the comments ;)

how much gold did you make in a day?
@JamesDoesThings Жыл бұрын
Most of my characters were quite low-level when they got banned, the one which didn't get banned on day 1 got up to about 500k but I was very careful about how I used him, so it was not the most gold-efficient process. Assuming you have the bond and decent combat skills the expectation is that you can be earning anything from 100k to 1M/ hour, but even if you run for 12 hours per day you'll only be playing for 4-6 hours due to breaks (to stop you getting banned). Based on the progress I saw with the Hill Giant script I think the 0.1-1M / hour is fair but will depend on luck and also market prices at the GE.

Quite possibly, but I got the impression that it is likely to be a near constant game of cat and mouse trying to stay one step ahead of the Devs and occasionally losing everything, regardless of which tools / clients I use. @BigNarstieStinkingBass Жыл бұрын
@@JamesDoesThings yes so i used to use epicbot and bans were few and far between i returned to osrs in 2019 and tried out runelite, im now so comfortable i leave it botting end game pvm for 12+ hour sessions, it does everything and has a large amount of free scripts, in this time ive maxed multiple pk builds too lol i had one ban and that account was one that i think i got a manual ban at bandos for because it was 90 combat killing the boss with a rune crossbow prayer flicking and kiting lmao, it also runs directly via runelite, i think the key is buy a bond from the get go starting and botting in f2p seems very silly, get members and do a few quests manually then just hardcore bot.

I've been playing it since 2005 and logged thousands and thousands of hours and never bottled for a single second. Playing a game without cheating isn't a psychopathic behavior. An example of actual psychopath behavior is a comple disregard or empathy for the rules or the people who play the game. Betting ruins the integrity of the game and harms players who don't cheat.

@@shawn14isme Fair point, thanks for the comment. I am planning to do another video about selling game items this week, so I might do a follow-up on OSRS too. When I made this video I hadn't really played the game properly and I didn't give it the respect it deserves as a game - however - recently I tried it again, this time I tried to go from F2P to grow a bond, but realised that I was missing out on so much but not having the bond so I just paid for it. I was really into it for about a week, but got frustrated by many aspects of the game and the levelling up mechanics. I can see the appeal of the game as a whole and there is so much content and so many quests and things to do that I didn't know about and I appreciate it more now than I did last time around, and whilst I'm not sure "psychopath" is quite the right phrase, I think you both have valid points about the game: 1) Levelling up skills in the game so that you can do the fun stuff is often not a fun experience and it probably should be - I think to get to level 99 in just about any skill (without spending 19 years playing it) would take a lot of determination, because there would inevitably be times when most people would say "what's the point? - Why am I spending my time doing this?" 2) Bots and the Real World Trading have a detrimental effect on the game and I found that out first-hand when I saw that the price of a bond in-game was nearly double what it was the last time I played (8m ->15m gold ish) If you like this game and enjoy playing it as it is, good for you. If you want to mod / bot it for quality of life purposes, fair enough - one of the reasons I stopped playing (this time around) is that I felt like I could be having a better experience or better use of my time doing or playing something else...
