This is insane. I'm a pretty hardcore cyclist, I've been obsessed with biking for 10 years now. I would never even attempt an everesting because of how heniously hard it is. seriously, this guy took a giant deep dive here. wowza!

Not only a good effort, but he seemed to be using all new equipment. Riding this long, especially uphill, stresses every part of your setup. Anything that isn't perfect can cause you to drop out. Saddle title isn't right, shorts aren't a good fit, cleats are too far back, anything like that could cause enough pain over that long of a duration to make you quit. This was a much greater effort than the video may lead you to believe.

If you have the money, they can haul anybody up there - no effort on the 'climber's' part except getting through the conditions. They've hauled up blind people and people stuck in wheel chairs.

If you don't know, "everesting" is a real thing amongst cyclists and has been for a long time. This isnt some buzzfeed clickbait or anything, its a known challenge. The real world everesting record was actually just set a couple days ago at 6:59, and its hotly contested amongst some of the best pros in the world.

Yes and no. They need more equipment, but they drag blind and even quadrapalegic people up there. They also haul up a lot of stuff for all the camps. Basically they can haul anything up there, even if that thing is inert and contributes nothing. That is counted as 'climbing' Everest.
