Thank you for being a delightful tornado of a baker. It's nice to be reminded other people can literally take a full day (or two) to make one batch of cookies, and I'm not the only one thusly cursed! Seriously, this is the first time I've laughed since getting ill with Covid on Monday, so thank you for providing the highlight of quarantine!

Christine McConnell's superpower is patience. Yes she's super creative and talented but the amount of patience that woman has to execute her ideas is beyond anything I could ever even hope to achieve. She makes things look easy and yeah, sure, she's not performing brain surgery or anything but omg, the PATIENCE required. I do not have it. I will never have it.

She DOESN'T have one of the most common and readily available kitchen tools - a *SIFTER* - but she DOES have a *BAKING AIRBRUSH* ! Gawd, I love this girl! 🤣💖

To be honest, never in my life have I seen someone use a sifter - I had to google what it even was! :D I've only seen people use sieves for this purpose :D So to me, Rachel using a sieve was a completely right thing to do!
@Hanaconda_Aquaponics2 жыл бұрын

@@Hanaconda_Aquaponics my mom has a vintage sifter, which is as best as I can describe, a pretty painted coffee can with a sieve on the inside and set of metal scrapers that rotate over the sieve mesh when you turn a handle on the outside. I now live the sifter-less life and just use a sieve. Works fine and I feel less alone knowing that a lot of other people do the same.

This was so adorable ❤ your outfit, your hair, your face, you’re just a spectacular being! Quick note, the “biscuity” texture from your cookies, is due to overworking the shortbread dough. As a baker, it is a really TOUGH COOKIE to master so don’t beat yourself up. Xoxo❤

well, that and putting in 12 heaping 1/3 cup measures (aka 4+ cups) of flour instead of the requested 3 cups... 😆🍞🪦

I laughed so much at the human-ness of your reactions. This video is an absolute delight. And your spee-i-der: a genuinely horrifying creation. You’re a better baker than you think, Rachel. Remember the first time you worked with modeling foam? Everyone begins at square one. Plus, you’re one of the few people who could pull this off with your sculpting and air brush skills.

Rachel, I just wanna say... When you read the recipe for the first time you said 3 cups of flour, but when you found the measuring cup you said 4 cups! I think that maybe why you needed more milk and why your cookies turned out biscuit like! Plus all the flour you use to roll out the worms, it probably didn't help 😅 You did well though! Baking is most like a science tbh.
