A small tip for collecting gems and stones. Scientist career from Get to Work is the best for that, because around a laboratory (lot you get sent to when you join your sim when they go to work) spawns literally DOZENS of the rock things to mine and they respawn constantly

i have a mod where a spellcaster's familiar gives potion ingredients (which include crystals and metals) all the time XD having a scientist spellcaster would make this a breeze lol

If you click on "work late", your sim can spend the day doing their Scientist chores, then after their normal work time they can dig for gems. Also when they get a promotion in that career, you are given the option to "go home" which should mean your sim can stay and collect more things then, or work on the equipment to gain more skill.

I'm kinda disappointed there's no negative ones. I would love to cut a gem that gives a sad aura. For those times when I want my sims to mourn a little longer, a sad aura would really come in handy. Again, why won't they let us cause suffering - life is pain and this is a life sim.

The thing with Plopsy is, you have to use it for a longer period, the more you sell, the faster your things sell and the more money you make, if you just quickly wanna make money its not gonna work but if you really make it your sims career its really not that bad.

I had my rancher sim paint as a hobby, partly because I wanted to paint my horses. To catch cute moments I had a bunch of easels everywhere outside. My ranch hand started painting in his free time too because the number of easels made the probability of doing anything else nil, and before long I had a ton of random paintings everywhere, turns out you can sell what your employees paint (or at least what the ranch hand paints I've never noticed that with a maid or nanny). So I started selling all his stuff and the fails my sim painted on plopsy. My rancher got rich long before my horses reliably brought in competition prizes.

I feel like the death proof gem only works on deaths that leave a body so they can be resurrected by just popping up off the ground. I also did a tiny home for my first gem crafter, so I had a Murphy bed, but it never smashed me to death lol

I think for the death one it only protects you from deaths where you have a body, so the revival animation can play. So cowplant and motherplant won't work

When you set up a market in these tables... there is the option of sales introduction that does help and also the option to sell an specific item to an specific sim. this works for me and helps with charisma

not sure what you mean by sales introduction, the only two options i ever see are "convince to buy" and "give sales pitch". sales pitch never seems to actually help make them buy anything; they always leave right after. i only use convince to buy now, you earn charisma either way.

I’ve learned that if you have a werewolf with all of the needs-based abilities unlocked, they can pretty happily live outdoors with no possessions. They can groom themselves, sleep on the ground, devour objects and hunt (they also happily heat raw meat/fish), so I think my favorite werewolf sim is going to me my go-to rags to riches tester.

The sim still “dies” when they have hematite and that summons grim, but since they have the hematite in their inventory or around them, instead of the normal death cutscene a new one plays. the sim glows, flies into the air, and floats to the ground. other sims will clap for them to congratulate them
