Good afternoon Marion. At 74, I haven't ceased and still exploring new crafts and here you are, Marion has come up with an inspiring, rejuvenating craft idea and that is Indian Block Print. I saw them at the craft show you visited not long ago and it reminded me that I have a few of ordinary patterned rubber stamp blocks I have used to print some little designs. I really love the different block motifs you have used on plain fabric becoming an absolutely beautiful artistically designed piece of cloth/tea towel. They are rather expensive to purchase but I will find out where I can purchase the Indian Block stamps here in NZ at our local craft store, otherwise I might have to purchase them online. Thank you, Marion for posting and sharing your beautiful new inspiration. Your ideas and chats always bring so much pleasure to my day. Bless you always, Thelma ❤❤

You just print away to your hearts content and we will enjoy it with you Marion! I for one love your channel whatever you are at and I think it's because I feel like I'm with you or you are here... Listening to you talking to us as you work it feels like sharing with a friend. I'm just going to cut some potatoes and do some fun printing on paper. We'll see if I'm beginning at 64 to grow out of the pet hate of getting my hands messy! I love that teatowel Marion maybe I'll investigate those block things. Isn't it great to try new creative hobbies. Thank for sharing with us love. Take care and God bless. V❤

Oh another very tempting craft to try! I’ll have to sit on my hands though…..Your idea for using printed cloth to make a dress is something that I look forward to seeing next year!

Nice! Maybe it would work to use the lids of the pots as 'pallette'. The sponge would fit it seems.

That looks like soooooo much fun to do! Random is very difficult for me to do, I am a “symmetry” person. I love the way your random end result looks! I have to get my brain to try random one day.

This looks amazing. I've just realised that I have a block that I brought back from India over 50 years ago. I didn't know what it was - I just have it as an ornament on my shelf. So many thanks, Marion - now I know and I'll use it. Hugs!

Looks amazing and a lot of fun. It was interesting watching you experiment with the different colours. I do remember back in the 80s enjoying stencilling when it was around. The blocks you chose are lovely. Looking forward to seeing you use them in the future.

How lovely Marion, this was a joy! It brought back memories of my highschool days. We had a print shop at our school and classes in printing. I took the class and among other things learned how to set type on an old cylinder press. One of our projects was to carve linoleum blocks and do block printing, as part of our studies of the history of printing. I carved the cutest little Holly Hobbie girl holding her dolly. I wish I still had it, but I don't. We were using the blocks to print on paper, but I'm sure they would have worked on fabric too. What a gorgeous design you have created. Thank you for sharing this delightful art. It really cheered me up on this stormy rainy day. 😊❤

Thank you Marion and what a lovely spring dress that would make. I have a few from years ago when create and craft on TV was going. I have forgotten all about them. They were not nature inspired though which I would prefer now. I used them to print a design which I then embroidered. The pattern was very abstract and traditionally Indian. Must have a look at their website for more plant ones, thanks for putting the link in.

I went to a workshop once by the Indian Block company where they showed using their blocks printed on to fabric to use as a pattern for embroidery - so you can combine printing with stitching. I've done small things so far but one of my projects is to do it on a denim tunic to personalise it.

It's very addictive Marion 😂 there are endless possibilities with block printing. I used carpet tiles for printing on they work really well, but of advice, do a practice print so when you do the proper print it socks the paints up well.I have quite a few myself. Looking forward to what you will do with these

Looks lovely Marion 😊 I splashed out on 1 block and 1 paint at the knitting and stitching show 😂 it’s a little bird that I embroidered some details on to make Christmas decorations, and I’ve also used it with acrylic paint to print on some brown paper to use for wrapping. I think I might buy one each time I go to a show and build up my collection gradually
