Nothing but used engine oil for me for the last ten years. I have great results with it. It flows well and provides excellent lubrication. At the time of draining, the oil was still good for lubricating components in my engine worth thousands of dollars, and it's certainly overkill for one last pass on a sub $100 chainsaw bar. Hard to argue with results

It seems like this is well researched and engineered. When put through the testing from Buckin who I've grown to trust and respect, it is a product that we've been waiting for. When Scott says that performance was the key and being clean was an after effect of benefit, boom" that is modern engineering. After using the canola oil that was given to me I'm ready to try something better. Thanks Buckin for repackaging your promotion, you are holding yourself to high standards and you can relate to some of the comments. I tried running biodegradable bar oil namely, stihls biodegradable bar oil. Here in the southern states of the USA bet it will have the same problem had with the bio oil was running, is bugs. The oil actually had a good smell when it got hot on the bar, but when the saw was in storage or put up insects were attracted to it, namely roaches. Go to grab the saw for the first time, and roaches would start crawling out of it, especially when it got hot. That was enough for me to switch back to the Dino oil.

Suggest FREE oil. Used engine/gear/hydraulic oil. You are throwing it out, your neighbors are throwing it out. It is FREE. Run it through a filter first though. Why does ANYONE pay money for bar oil? I never have and have firewood business and lawn care. All you do is open the oil a little bit or close depending on how big your wood is or how long your bar is. You have to do that anyways if you want your bar to last. Either that or you are throwing GOBS of oil all over the ground.

Used engine/gear/hydraulic oil which are all FREE, all work. I have never paid for bar oil. No one ever used to do so until the marketing departments got a brilliant idea of selling "bar oil" to loggers who never used to pay anything for it. Bar oil is a SCAM. Maybe in Ultra long bars they might have a point but I have never had a problem running old FREE oil in 28" + bars. If you have a pro saw you will have a variable rate oiler and it might be closed down to save loggers $$$ and you may have to open it up, but the "ranch" or "home owner" saws all have fixed oilers and they are WIDE open wasting TONS of oil.... GOBS of oil all over the place making them VERY expensive saws to operate.

I usually run a new Oil on an everyday saw. After running one Can I can judge the oil as a lubricant. Then I dip the Chain in the last remaining oil and store the bar with the chain on for a few months. If everything glues together I never buy this oil again. If the oil remains to be a lubricant and if I can just install the bar and continue using it I also accept the oil for the saws that I don't run on a daily basis. Oil that turns into glue in this test can ruin the oilpump of a saw when storing them for a long time and everybody having multiple saws has some saws that are not in use for some time. When having oil in my barn I don't want to worry on using it so I do this test for knowing which oil from the local dealers is ok and which one is crap. Several bio-oils tend to turn into glue after a month or two... Some do, some don't...

Mister, you should try a Chinese chainsaw, you will like it.

In a few years, the Chinese will completely own us. They take other manufacturer's R&D and copy their products. It's a ripoff. Say no to Chinese knockoff garbage.

@@rollling7523Chinese saws can be ok for the weekend warrior but when we’re out here on the pipe 10 hrs a day those cheap Chinese pistons and rings don’t hold up man. Even running 40-1 and keeping it fat. Take any knock off saw and run it next to the brand name saw you’ll see.

Hi Buckin. After being a Husqvarna dealer for eight and a half years and cutting and splitting for fifty years, I won't ask you anything. But I will offer this: "Never give advice. The wise don't need it and the fools won't heed it." Shalom/gw

So how is the younger generation supposed to learn as you did? Are you just writing off everybody because you had a few idiots in your life not listen to you? Or are you being one of them? Along the way? Remember there are other 30-year-olds out there like me that do actually use the advice. There’s 8 billion people I’m sure you have not met everyone yet
