When jiao zi (dumpling) get that big, we have a different kind of stuffing and we call it jiu cai he zi "Chives box." It's filled with chives, stir fried glass noodles, and scrambled eggs (can have other ingredients based on preference. They taste amazing and shouldn't be oily inside at all, not that large dumpling should be oily either, you're cooking/prepping them really wrong if they are letting out that much oil.
@morganthefork1939 ай бұрын
you getting me so hungry lol
@Krossfyre4 ай бұрын
Any kind of fried dish is going to be a little oily, it's just the nature of these things. But the point of the dish was to just rush out as many as possible, so they probably cooked as many as possible at once, which cools down the pan or whatever they're using, which absorbs the oil more. Then they didn't drain it so any outside oil gets absorbed as it cools too. I suspect if only one person was doing the challenge at a time it would be more palatable to eat.

I genuinely feel like this should be more doable, but it's more on the part of the chef to help. There is no reason to shred the filling for a dumpling that big.
