A lot of "lolita" seems to be based on 18th-19th century European fashion, so it makes sense that it would suit a white British person. Connor ended up with a typical 18th century shirt, ruffled at the neck. The wrist ruffles used to signal that the person did not work with their hands.

Even if he was RinRin's special guest, I don't think a lot of the attendees would have liked a fully grown man with a beard wearing lolita, especially at a big tea party like that it would have been taking the piss. If you answer more than 0, lucky ass bastard Rinrin, on the other hand, is an innocent yet successful imouto and must always keep her shame in mind for the more modest audience, and thus must blush at any and everything you wouldn't show your parents even if she's technically the one making you show said things. One is shameless, the other is modest- I would definitely love to see how their dynamic works. Would Kaho corrupt Rinrin? As a guy who's always been interested in lolita fashion, it's really cool to see Connor look into it! I kinda felt it wasn't something I could be comfortable actually interacting with since that space is so feminine, (not that that's a bad thing!) but seeing how openly Connor approached it kinda made me reconsider that :)
@Enjyu_666 Жыл бұрын
I think you should deffinitely try out what you're interested in, make peace with yourself if it doesn't fit in the "norms" of your environment, and don't be afraid to take criticism, or even be laughed at and singled out 🤷in the process, and on the long term, it will probably be a great and rewarding experience. And, if you're attracted to ladies, many prefer men who are comfortable with themselves, as in not putting a boundry macho stuff/feminine stuff.

connor at 18:17 looks like an exhausted viscount from a medieval fantasy world sitting in the corner of his niece's party to have a short break before returning to the mountain of paperwork in his office. an excellent vibe. I hope he keeps the lolita outfit and uses it for future lolita stuff with Rinrin or for ren faires. I feel like it would work well if he ever went to a ren fair and wore that.

The Japanese have a very paradoxical sense of morality. All at once old fashioned yet embracing sexuality in a much more open way than most.

@@clothar23 That doesn't seem very embracing of sexuality.
@clothar23 Жыл бұрын
@@franciscasilva8406 What RinRin's obviously staged overreaction? If you pay attention you'll notice at no point during her helping Connor was she flustered . She calmly and methodically helped out of his situation. And only engaged in the blushing schoolgirl act once He no longer needed help. She is a fashion model specializing in Lolita fashion. The cute and innocent act is integral to the immersion of her chosen career. And it's clear she enjoys it otherwise she wouldn't be half as successful as she is at it. You my sibling in Christ need to read deeper than the surface.

@clothar23 how does it being an act disprove what I said? Calling a shirtless man a blinding sight and getting flustered its act that isn't very embracing of sexuality And like you said, it tries to mimick the sexual innocence and embarrassment of school girls, therefore not embracing it

oh hey I'm a lolita! I gotta say connor collabing with rinrin made this a great video, a lot of popular youtubers really butcher what lolita style is and what it's like to actually try it out. but with rinrin's expertise and connor's openness to different subculture styles, this was a really nice exploration of it! thanks for bringing some positive light to the lolita scene, it's such a wonderful style (that's slowly becoming more inclusive with sizing too!) that often just gets misunderstood on sight because of the name. more people should try out a big frilly dress if they're able!

This was so peaceful compared to your usual videos of trying new things and you looked great in my opinion! Everyone seemed so welcoming and everything looked pleasant from the staff at the store, to the tea party, just thoroughly pleasant and enjoyable to watch! Also, a very happy birthday to RinRin who seems so lovely, which is always nice to find out about someone you've seen in magazines forever and all over the alternative subculture. Truly a duo I never knew I needed.

I feel like it was a better choice than choosing a dress and bonnet unless he expressed an interest in specifically dressing femme so it's obvious he felt more comfy in ouji and it wasn't just for the sake of the video gimmick of tryin lolita fashion kind of thing ;; w ; 💙 I wanna visit cafe Acorite so badly ahhh.... thank you for the tea pot showcase at the end i'm totally in love...

i started wearing lolita a few years ago and for me it's been my everyday wear (as long as I'm not going to the office 😅). People don't dress that bright where i live (seeing someone in pastels is already quite rare) so i definitely get some looks when i wear it esp on public transportation but i just love how i feel and look when i wear lolita fashion so i don't pay it any mind. unlike a lot of other lolitas theres not really a community of lolitas where i live but i def still have fun playing dressup on my own 💗💗

Before they made the final outfit, I saw the shirt in the back and was like “that one. That’s the one.” And the way Rinrin styled it?? Immaculate 😌👌 he looked sooooo good, he looked amazing, I loved it 💜💜 and I’m glad he loved it too, it shows when someone actually likes the outfit they’re wearing, I’ve only just noticed this now 😅 but if someone isn’t feeling their outfit, if they’re not feeling confident, you can tell, and it makes the fit look bad, even if it’s not…. But that end fit and how he felt with it, just pulled everything together 💜 although, tbh, it was a really great fit, the harness was a suuuuper nice touch 👌 like, I want that fit actually 😂😂 I wanna go to that shop now haha

As a Lolita myself I can really relate with that whole "It just feels right" thing. When I saw myself in a Lolita coord for the first time (even if the dress itself wasn't really my style and didn't fit properly, lol) I was just so happy looking at myself and felt so pretty! So if anyone out there thinks about becoming a Lolita and trying out the fashion, just do it! Maybe try something on from a friend or at a shop, if you're near one that sells Lolita. But if not, there's always the internet! Many indie brands are pretty affordable or there a second hand sites like Lacemarket. And if you don't like it, you can always resell it. But if you have some doubt about the fashion or if it would suit you, my advice is to just try it out and see yourself in it c:

I have been waiting for this video ever since I was him collab with Rinrin! I have been into lolita fashion years and years and I do wear it, my only gripe with this video was that there where no mentions of lolitas sibling style ouji fashion, which is what Connor was wearing for the tea party, it ahs many names from boy style, kodona to dandy, but there is definetly a style for men and people who like more masc aesthetic and there are lolita brands who make ouji clothing like Alice and the Pirates, Metamorphose temps de fille does them from time to time and Moi meme moitie which was in this video. I was pleased that Connor that Connor tried actual lolita fashion with the triple fortune dress even if ti wasn´t a full coord

@@piotrjeske4599 Lolita as a fashion takes inspiration from historical clothing. You wouldn’t guess it from sweet lolita (the style rinrin is wearing) But if you look at classic lolita and some Hime lolita, you’ll see the historical references Lolita and Ouji are both very inspired by historical clothes.

I must admit that Connor has the frame to suit this style of clothing. He looks very dapper in a well cut suit. Congratulations to RinRin for the fantastic clothes and subtle makeup (belated birthday greetings ❤). I was trying to figure out the true male lolita style equivalent. I'm thinking maybe Georgian period clothing (think pride and prejudice) but to make it lolita add a modern twist somehow? Maybe a change in colour or pairing it with a certain style of hair?
