i tried reading 3 books in 1 week to resurrect myself from the dead 💀 reading vlog

hello friends and welcome to another reading vlog! this week i challenged myself on a little readathon, trying to read as many books as possible in one week! I also go bookshopping (!!!) at two beautiful new bookstores, so i'm giving you a small 'come bookshopping with me'. AND in this reading vlog you will finally meet the elusive housemates i always mention!

It’s totally normal to get sick after really stressful seasons! Your body’s immune system is on high alert when you’re stressed and when you come down or hit that deadline your immune system does too. I often get sick when I take vacation from work, like my body says “oh, it’s okay to relax now? I’ll go on vacation too” 😂💀 feel better soon!

Oh no just when malls are finally dying in America they’re being resurrected in the Netherlands. That mall is way more trendy than anything I’ve ever been too though, that second bookstore was aesthetic ✨

My tip for this kind of this is to dig out an old book you love and re-read it at whatever speed you want. Wrap yourself up in a reading comfort blanket. Drink lots of water. But I enjoyed the video. I particularly liked one shot in the bookshop where I'd read two out of the three books in shot: Girl, Woman, Other and Unsettled Ground. (Vanity, vanity...all is vanity!!) I haven't been to a bookshop since the pandemic started so that was a nice thing to see.

The mall thing - I don't know about the whole of Europe, but in Poland people like them a lot, they like to build them and spend time in them, every bigger city has one, or two, or in the case of my city, Cracow, 5 or something :D and always the next one that's about to be built has to be bigger and fancier of course. Personally, I can appreciate having all the shops in one place indoors, but in general hate going there, just too many people, too many lights, bright colours and music.

Indeed! There're many malls in Europe. Spain is full of indoor and outdoor malls, I've also been to malls in the UK, France and Italy (there's some famous ones). I really want to visit Poland, I've got many polish friends living in Barcelona 😍

Your voice is so pleasant to listen to while I crochet and I'm so glad you showed how human you are at the end, you admitted you wanted the vlog to end happy and positive but hey life doesn't always go that way. There're malls in Europe, Spain is full of them (indoors and outdoors), and at the top of my head I've also been to indoor malls in the UK, France and Italy, actually some of them are famous and visited by tourists! It's true I haven't seen them in the Netherlands but I wasn't focused on going shopping when I visited haha Btw, Stradivarius and Pull&Bear are spanish brands from the same family "Inditex" which also owns Zara, Zara Home, Bershka, Oysho, Massimo Dutti and Uterqüe 🥰

I laughed at the "what's the message" bit. I'm glad you were able to turn in your assignment in time and I actually also ended up getting sick recently. Hilariously, in the back of my mind I was a little excited because I was like "oh yes, I will be in bed all day and can read." Yeah no that didn't happen. We have malls in Germany! There's something called "Breuningerland" in my state. But now I'm curious whether other European countries have malls 😀 Also I relate to the master stress! I am really out of it lately too. I finally realized I have been allergic to a medication Ive been on for 6 MONTHS!!! Just realized all these issues have been because of this medication. I tried to just stop taking it and got very sick so my Dr is weening me down. Its been horrible. The top 3 side effects Ive had are itching sweating 👀 yuck and lethargic🤦 This summer has been HORRIBLE! Hopefully we will both feel better soon I start back to school in a month😭 not ready too soon

Idk if its your kind of thing but Mr Wilder & Me by Jonathan Coe (I saw a short clip of it) is a really good book, I think it was in Paacman? Is that what that bookstore was called?
