27 years old is still so, so young! Toni Morrison debuted at 39, Mark Twain at 41, Annie Proulx at 57... the list goes on. Today's world convincing us that people peak in their 20's is such a sham. Especially in the field of writing, which is such a slow, longterm activity and/or process - on so many levels. Point is: you're doing great!

That about Van Gogh not finding his calling for art until 27 really hit me, too, as I'm literally 21 trying to figure it all out with zero clue 😅. I have qualities and talents but sometimes struggle to find how I can bring meaning to them

i completely relate to struggling how to find meaning to your skills!
@annikania2682
@annikania2682 Жыл бұрын
I think finding meaning can be really hard, because the question is, if something is meant to fully financially support you, or if it is meant to be a true non-monetized hobby, or inbetween. I can only truly enjoy my hobbies if I know I am just making them for me, to feel happy and to create something that does something for me! Meaning is such a weird concept!

@Annikania I guess when you embrace your passions, you discover an outlet for the sides of you that aren't stimulated at your day job. It's not something you “have to do,” but rather something you “want to do” because you love to do it. It's funny you say meaning is a 'weird' concept because meaning is what you give to something, not what something gives to you
