As a child, in the 70s of the last century, these were sold in children's stores, children rode them down the slides. They were called Cherevichki.

@@kolgax2064 No. Cherevik (hence - cherevichki). Derived from *červo (womb, belly) “skin from the belly”. Cherevik literally means “shoes made of animal fur”. Cherevichki are also called shoes made of thin leather. These skis are still on sale in Russian online stores. Cost $4.5 The fastening there is, of course, simple - a pair of plastic belts with clips. Children enjoy riding them.

In the 90s their were something similar that were built into the boots instead of strap on. I believe they were called sleddogs?

Had a question, do shoes make a difference for learning free skates? Cause I find that my foot slides off a lot and I’m thinking that it could be because the bottom of my shoe isn’t flat

100%! The recommendations for shoes are basically the same as with skateboarding - skate shoes. Anything from Lakai, Vans, or other popular skate brands should do the trick! Also as you continue to progress, you’ll be able to get by with skating in other types of shoes in a pinch (flip flops, tennis shoes, dress shoes) 😆 but nothing will be as comfortable as skate shoes with more grip and a flat bottom 👍

Yes! If it’s less slushy, you should be able to push off just like on roller skates or inlines. There’s a little bit of that in this video, but we took advantage of the hill for most of it 👍
