When I have an instant ramen craving I swap out the fried ramen noodles block with these. I agree, in Italian pasta dishes they are gross I would never use, but for East Asian stir fries and the like they’re pretty good and filling from all the fiber. The konjac rice is a good sub for fried rice dishes too, it’s even good with half real rice and half konjac rice for more volume fewer calories. For pasta dishes I always just do like lentil pasta or zoodles and maybe half regular pasta or something
@RahulKamat3 жыл бұрын
That’s a great ramen swap to save a ton of cals! I love doing half zoodles + half regular pasta too! I’ve never tried konjac rice but it’s definitely something I need to get soon. Thanks for the rec!

I love them but expensive in my country so I make zucchini noodles, pumpkin noodles, butternut squash noodles,bean sprouts also gives an illusion that you are eating noodles. These noodles go for my ramens, stir frys, Alfredos and spaghetti and meat sauce. Also will Tennyson made noodles from making a very big super flat egg white omelet that he baked on a tray and then cut them into long thin strips into noodles. They taste good with tomatoe and meat sauce. Lastly, cutting cabbage into thin stips and microwave for 2 mins also could substitute for pasta

I love bean sprouts in pad thai, I could see them being used as a noodle replacement. Gotta check out Will’s egg white noodles, sounds interesting! Thanks for sharing these ideas!

I've been meaning to try these for a while but your face upon opening the first pack and smelling 'fish, but not good fish' was hilarious and really makes me think twice. Might still try some in a stir fry but my love for pasta won't allow me to go that far, plus egg fettucine isn't that high in calories and totally worth it. Thanks for a great review and your vids are always very entertaining!

I know im late to this video and this product. I just discovered these noodles the other day while picking up tofu. I decided to add them as an untraditional twist to my hot and sour soup. They worked great. The slippery noodles added one more interesting texture to the soup. I will definitely be using them for my Asian inspired recipes. Can't imagine them with a tomato-based sauce though. Great video will watch more of your posts!

I am so glad to see this video cause I was thinking the EXACT same thing. I tried them back when I was eating what ever I wanted and was not willing to adjust my tastes, so maybe I should try them again now that I eat differently.. I was wondering if they'd mess with your digestion though, cause I have heard that can happen. But also I have to say, watching you look at the camera while you're driving seriously stressed me out. Please don't. Nobody is expecting you to look at the camera whilst driving, we won't feel ignored... other than a douche maybe. Be safe.

Hey pro tip you don’t have to boil the noodles. Just rinse under the tap and fry up in the pan, it will get rid of the smell I promise
@RahulKamat3 жыл бұрын
Really?? I’ll try this out bc it would make things a lot easier and quicker. Thanks for the tip!
@caseyj93 жыл бұрын
It’s best if you rinse well abd then microwave 1 minute abd then dry fry. Also like you see different ones and brands have hella different textures- house foods has a fiber flax one that’s really good and I like the crunchy kelp noodles but aside from that the textures can be awful
@RahulKamat3 жыл бұрын
I’ll keep an eye out for those specific types of noodles, thanks for the rec!
@cholohd323 жыл бұрын
As someone mentioned, you can skip the intital boiling. The boiling is basicly to get rid of the "fishy water" that the noodles is stored in. So after rinsing, put the noodles on a clean kitchen towel & let it absorb water for a few mins. Then just fry em up dry pan. If the noodles are particular "bad" then after the initial rinse put the noodles in a glass container & a like half a spoon acid (like lemon juice) for a couple of mins. Then re-rinse to get the acid out.
@RahulKamat3 жыл бұрын
I’ve never tried frying them up in a dry pan because I’m afraid they’ll stick and get messed up. Thanks for the tips, super helpful!

Ok, I tried this noodles. For me, it was ok. It didn't smell a lot. It was gone after I rinse. I guess I got lucky? I enjoyed eating it cuz all the seasoning gave it a lot of flavor and yes was chewy but wasn't that bad 😆. It reminded me to octopus [one of my favorite seafood meat] to the first bites but then it was alright. I'm going to use this type of noodles

There rubber. Horrible. I've tried numerous dishes with these lmao. The yam(purple ones)or tofu regular looking noodles are sooo better. Tofu has like 15 calories & what 4g carbs but definitely better n not rubber. You look awesome & did awesome job on this thou. The best for this is to add a pich of the real noodles with it, to mix together better and the texture/ flavor is ok. That's best way to use these nasty noodles lol.
@RahulKamat2 жыл бұрын
Good idea mixing real noodles with these! Works well for rice and cauliflower rice too. I’ve never had tofu noodles but that sounds interesting, I wanna try
@inoutterspace2 жыл бұрын
@@RahulKamat the tofu noodles come in a bag like the rubber noodles lol. But don't get them confused. There not rubber. They say tofu noodles! They come in angel hair and regular. The regular size noodles are the ones you want. Pairs much better with spaghetti and etc and not rubber! Sprouts, whole foods, even walmarts carry them in the vegan area where vegan sausages & hotdogs are.
