I think it’s important to remember that on the glove, your nails are not anchored to your body like regular nails are. It’s on a glove that slides some degree. Regular nails you can apply pressure and there’s a “stopping point” where the nail won’t bend any further, and that’s usually the place where you have to do things like opening a soda. Doing this on gloves is going to be significantly harder than regular nails; even with a regular number of layers.
@metronicmagician181610 ай бұрын
Can confirm this. Currently opening cans of soda is my arch enemy with my acrylics. Also will say though there is a “stoping point” with a certain amount of leverage you can fully go past that and it’s not pretty.

@Darkwiccawillow10 ай бұрын
Oh yeah when your nails are naturally long you just adapt. I’ve put together various IKEA furniture, taken apart/put back together electronics as well last year I created a pair shorts for a little mermaid Disneybound. Dyed them green then spent a few hours sewing on sequins to the back pockets & front to give him a shiny scale look all with long nails. I’d honestly be really interested in a theory where Amy explores how natural long nails change your behaviour.

Watching MatPat struggle with long nails while I sit here with ~1cm (~3/8 inch) naturally protruding nails is fun. You really adjust the way you handle things SO much, to the point when my nail does break off I need to readjust and almost recalibrate my fingers lol. Another side effect of long nails are super soft and squishy finger tips, almost like cat toe beans.

I had nails that were at least an inch long for at least a year until last month. Ironically it was weirder getting used to short nails again because it was such a sudden change whereas growing them out was gradual. I was almost constantly breaking the nails on my dominant index finger and often broke the dominant thumb and middle finger's nails as well. It never hurt tho, sometimes I'd just look down and a nail would be gone or almost gone

A coarse and then medium nail file helps a lot to get the worst removed if you have thick paint on (5-6 layers). The rest you can remove by just adding a slow drying clear coat, wait for 10-20 seconds and then scrape/wipe it all off.
@moonwalkerangel700810 ай бұрын
It depends on whether or not a base coat was used, the type and how long you let the polish dry between each coats. If you use a peel off base coat, the shell of the polish can pop off easy, whereas if you are using a long lasting base, it can last longer. It also depends on nail care such as oiling the nails, dehydrating the nail plate, if the polish touches the cuticle, it will peel off
@lizziec961710 ай бұрын

The actual chaos of this episode is beautiful and I love it. What a lovely sendoff episode - I can't wait to see more of them!

Thank you MatPat. For giving me joy. And for making me question everything. You’ve done so much for me. And I think you will always hold a special place in my heart. But hey, that’s just a theory.
