i wonder if the placebo effect can be blamed. The stuff you thought wouldn't work more often than not didn't, but the stuff you did more often than not did.

i think the shock game is (or was) used for shock therapy but why is it a game? it should be banned just in case kids play it or it malfunction and deliver a higher boost of shock (vibration that feels like shock)

I will say, it can take a few minutes for your BP and heart rate to stabilize once you change positions from standing to sitting so I'm not sure how quickly the baseline was taken between the two positions. Also, crossing your legs when taking your BP changes your BP. You shouldn't talk or move your arm and should stay still until it's done for best results. You guys may already know this and I may be not helping at all but I just wanted to clarify, just on the off-chance. It's best to be done all in the same position, as well, so you can clarify that, whilst in the same position (standing, sitting, lying) you all had resting heart rates and BP measurements of x. Anywho, again, very probably not helpful but I love the content and anything I can do to help with more I will ❤️

Lol it reminded me of how I gave myself DPT in elementary school recess by tucking myself between two wood wall thingies because the playgroup was loud. This is really funny in hindsight.

This definitely needs some variable control and Design of Experiments. The order in which things happen, the day to day variation, the specific games, etc.

Moving around and talking can also affect blood pressure. Which is why your doctor sometimes checks again after the nurse.

I agree with Sam. Sometimes there is nothing you can do, so worrying about things makes them worse.

As someone else commented, my two thoughts through the whole thing were placebo, and mind of matter. Maybe they might do something small, but as unscientific as this sounds (Even though I think there are peer reviewed papers I think I’ve heard about) the belief it works (or desperation in the last game) might do something as well.

Maybe in 2025 all the channels can have a themed week, or even month, where the new hosts finish Theories that MatPat never did! Petscop for Game Theory, How Bending Works Fire, Earth, and Air addition for Film Theory. And while Food and Style Theories have had better times of this, probably because those channels are only a few years old, I know they have stuff to work with.
