We have the one horse Meat grinder. I love that machine. We use it to make sausages. It gets used every couple months when our local store runs their big sale. We usually grind 20-30 pounds at a time. Meat products have been bullet proof for us.

I love bulk meat sales and the combo of a really good grinder and a vacuum sealer.

I have the basic 500 watt Meat Your Maker grinder that I’ve used for the last two years. Great machine. Mostly use it to grind up brisket point for burgers. Younger boys prefer the leaner flat when I do brisket. Can’t wait to receive your rubs!!!❤

We use our meat grinder for burger, sausage and ham. Chorizo is a great idea!
@TheBarbecueLab28 күн бұрын
I usually use it for burgers first, and chili beef second. Now that we've started down the Chorizo road, whenever I see a pork butt on sale I'm grabbing one to restock the freezer. I'm loving Chorizo for breakfast and lunch tacos.

It's on my kitchen counter right now, and Melissa keeps looking at me like I'm going to take it to the garage... We're really just playing a game of chicken where I see how long I can keep it in the kitchen to grind more meat.

You can put a loaf of bread through the grinder to get the last of the meat out and it does a good job in cleaning the majority of the residue out of the machine before cleaning.

I have the 1/2 horsepower grinder and it’s perfect for a family of 5 grinding our own meats. Also decided to get the sausage stuffer separately. I can grind 15 lbs of meat in less than 1 1/2 min. honesly one time, I couldn’t get meat in the throat fast enough while my grinder was taunting me saying is that all you got. The double grind would be nice, but not worth it to update..

I have this same grinder in the Cabela's Carnivore #42. It's deceiving as both grinders knife size are #42 but the plate size is a #52. I made a plastic washer and added to the but of the auger to reduce heat, a touch of food grade grease also aids with this.

I use my grinder for the occasional pork butt (for sausage), brisket trimmings, etc. And while I lust after something like that 2hp behemoth, I have to say that my MEAT! 500W grinder (the smallest one) is a freaking champ, and does everything that I need it to do.
@dubltap721626 күн бұрын
That's got to be a monster grinder. I have the MEAT 1hp and I can't keep up with it. Plus it weighs 60+ pounds. Love it though, is an excellent grinder. I'm a hunter so I use it for wild game plus I grind beef for burgers and pork for different sausages.

I own a 1.5 horse made by meat. I use it primarily for venison I hunt and poultry I grow on my small hobby farm. Every time I use the grinder it blows me away how fast it grinds. I have yet to need to use the plunger.

You can feed in ice at the end to push the remainder of the meat through. That thing is insane. lol.

you would not want to use these for stuffing sausage.. it will squash and heat the sausage meat too much... totally agree.. this machine is totally overkill.. I love it... but it makes no sense for me to buy it.. Love your channel.. you are the best.. thanks y ou chap...

@TheBarbecueLab I loved this overkill video David and Melissa. I got the .5 horse power grinder for the meat your maker black friday sale. The .5 horse power is huge so i can only imagine the 1 & 2 horse power grinders. I have a video releasing the .5 horse power meat grinder next saturday. I hope you guys swing by.

HP numbers do not mean much when talking about grinders. I have a 2.6HP Kenwood, and it would never be able grind those big pieces even if you could make them fit. I usually buy big pieces of meat on sale and grind them to mince meat and freeze portion batches to make hamburgers, ragu, pizza toppings, meatballs, meat cakes, etc. Grinding with a small grinder is really soul destroying when you are grinding big batches >10kg. Just the preparation slicing the meat to thin enough strips is very time consuming.
