This was fantastic, Alyssa. I can't wait to try this out. It's now 2120hrs here in Western Australia 😊 So tomorrow lookout. I wear hospital scrubs all the time, which I think has really impacted my ability to dress for normal daily life. So this technique really appeals. Your new black mini is gorgeous on you, and I personally love it with the stripped silk top. You do bombshell so well. It is so you. Your mums dress with your new strappy sandals, just magic. Hello Alyssa! Long-time subscriber and fan of your content from Vancouver, BC. I stumbled on the Tripped video when I was packing for a three-day trip last month to a casual, beachy locale with a celebration in a fine dining restaurant. I tried this method and it was GENIUS. I even included the “what if’s” Tripped recommended that you didn’t cover in this video…what if it rains? What if the restaurant is more casual than I thought? What if my bathing suit is wet but I want to go swimming again? I was sceptical that I would end up with a mountain of clothes, but I didn’t - even though I needed four pairs of shoes to cover all the essential, everyday and travel day activities - everything fit in my small under-the seat carry-on with room to spare. I was stunned. Never felt more prepared, comfortable and always appropriate on a trip. My go to packing system from now on. Also, the combinations of outfits between the days seemed to be endless…Colder weather clothes will need a larger carry-on for this method, but I can see now how it can work in winter, too. Great idea to try for a week of outfits at home!

I very much enjoy putting together a capsule, and after my last trip where I mixed and matched the same items for weeks on the trip, it really hit home how I don’t need quantity of pieces, but just good quality versatile pieces that are LOVE items. It’s also helpful to shop my own wardrobe and see things in a new way.

That lily silk top looks great with the cream jeans, but I can also see it with a going out midi/maxi ruffle or tulle skirt in any colour. For some reason I’m thinking like a purple or lilac. Why do I feel like you have a skirt like that? Not sure, my memory is bad 😂 Anyway something that’s a bit more puffy/volume to compliment/contrast the fit of that top. It would give a slightly more casual look and then you could even throw on white sneakers with it.

@TremmersUSA Edit: Alyssa replies to another post here that her mother purchased the Olive Linen Dress in Crete. /I wrote: You may not be a person who buys second-hand or thrifted clothing. But, if you are, the reselling platforms like Poshmark, EBay, Mercari and Vinted have good quality search functions. You could try something like 'Linen Shirtdress, Half Button Front, Midi Length, Side Slits, Size 10' and see what the resellers have in their 'stores'. You can put a 'Like' on an item if you're thinking about it. You can also message the reseller with any additional questions. A sheer white blouse with a black bra underneath? This look comes and goes, but it's never come for me. Either braless (given the strategic position of the pockets) or flesh colour bra. I am just back from a week on the hot Po Plain in Italy. Travelled in linen/cotton denim bermudas, linen shirt, light trainers. Packed 2 pairs of shorts and two pairs of long linen pants (the mosquitoes there are killers); two pairs of sandals; 3 tank tops, 2 linen T-shirts (one not worn) and two linen shirts; pyjamas, silk pillowcase plus underwear. Well within the airline hand luggage limits

@janelynch2180 (1 mo later) I agree. The prices are out of consideration for many of us. /However, to compare, I read a comment from the video Alyssa uploaded about 'Choosing & Styling Flat Shoes'. The lady said she'd bought eight pairs of low cost flats from Amazon. Brightly colored with decorative beads. (She called them her Bollywood shoes.) She said she paid $10-15 each, and accordingly did not expect them to last long. I think __ there __ is the difference in approach. Spend approx $120. Have lots of variety that may only last 1-2 seasons. Or, be happy with one or two high quality pieces. Which, if cared for, may last many years.

I love your belt, and I actually ordered it - the only belt I have doesn’t fit well with my high waisted pants, so I thought of adding a new belt to my wardrobe. Brave Leather sent me a wrong item, and it seems to be impossible to return what they sent and get a replacement.Their customer service is almost non-existent, and I had to contact my bank to initiate a chargeback, which I’ve never done before. This made me regret my purchase tbh. The belt itself seems to be of high quality, but since it has a fairly high price, it should come with a good customer service which Brave Leather doesn’t have. What they do have is a large email marketing team that sends you emails several times a week. Or maybe they’re one of those slow fashion companies that are going to close in the near future, so they’re cutting costs to stay afloat for as long as they can?
