I never understood folks vacuuming and cleaning their floors only to go and walk around their house wearing shoes. That never made sense to me lol. I never in a million years would allow shoes inside especially in a home that nice. The amount of bacteria you drag in from the outside world... Man oh man haha anyway love the video as always!

I’ve always read that you shouldn’t use steam on wood or any other laminate or veneer. I read that the steam loosens the compound that is used when installing the floor and it also warps the wood. It doesn’t seem to vacuum all that well. Great video!

We have true wood floors that are waxed, and we never steam them. I use a steam mop for tile areas (bathrooms), but the wood floor is generally just vacuumed and spot cleaned as necessary.

Laminate is most likely, and not actual wood.

Our last house actually had an area of the hardwood floor that had been ruined by the previous owners using a steam mop. I personally would be hesitant to use it on much of anything except tile.

Yes, my steam mop worked great but it ruined my laminate floors after about a year of use. I'd be cautious to read what floors the steam mop is compatible with before using it on them.

I think Monica has said that these are bamboo? floors? If not, they’re prob laminate, but I know she’s getting the floors replaced so if it wrecks it they’re getting thrown out anyway. I agree though, I don’t think you should use steam on wood or wood composite floors.

No edge cleaning, that's a pretty significant flaw. No idea why they went with this design, even though many of their competitors now, e.g. Tineco, Dreametech, and others, offer edge-to-edge cleaning with exposed rollers. This is pretty expensive too, so many people will hold off buying it until they offer edge cleaning, and by then their competitors will probably offer steam cleaning too, at better prices, making the Mach v1 Ultra a pretty bad choice.

So considering the amount of money you girls make, you really should hire a cleaning service to come in like 2x a month for a couple hours, even if its just to do bathrooms and kitchen. The baseboards, appliance fronts etc are all filthy. I'M NOT SHAMING YOU! I am AWFUL at cleaning, or even noticing these things in my home most of the time as well, which is why I just pay about $100 2x a month to have it done for me and I make a LOT less money than either of you do!

Seems cool but idk about using steam on the hardwoods and it seems impractical for large spaces. We have just over 3000 sq ft of hardwoods on the first floor. A giant dust mop and not wearing shoes in the house has been very effective for us.

Cool video, I can see that for dry chunks it kinda struggles, maybe cuz it's cordless and the battery life is probably a main concern for me so corded it is!

Actually, for this specific vacuum they advise specifically to NOT use distilled as it messes with the functionality of their ozone making function when steaming

Thanks for sharing! Surprised KZbin never recommended your channel to me before. Appreciate you not trying to stage or just shoot a video in a studio that's not a real world evaluation of the product. The cookie test answered my question of the size of the gap in the front and its ability to vacuum. This seems like a slick product, but doesn't look like they nailed it. Somewhere between this, the Tineco and Bissell products lies a perfect product.

A Tesla valve is a clever way to make a check valve without any moving parts so fluid can flow in only one way, and was actually invented by Tesla himself 🤓How well does it work on floors that aren't perfectly flat, like tile because of the grout?

BISSELL Symphony All-in-One Steam Cleaner. So this is not the first one. I know they are others. Just based on them lying and saying it's the worlds first one, I wouldn't buy it. Because what else are they lying about. Also $700? I'd pay no more then $200 for a vacuum.

You know what would clean up those messes just as well.. a damp 3 cent towel. This was a very poor test on a perfect polyurethaned wood floor.. almost anything will come off easily. If this isn't made for carpet then NO it's not worth it.

If you have to push and pull a bulky device by yourself then I wouldn't care if the steam was 1000 degrees warm. Vacuums have been able to clean by themselves for about 20 years now. It reminded me of those tv channel world changing cleaning products that no one really finds useful.

If you accept spilled hot sauce or whatever on the floor, literally noone ever reaches for a steamer/vacuum to clean it up. Like 99% of people would just get tissue to wipe away most of it then either a cloth or mop. Items like are just a waste of time and money. I watched this purely just because it's another Shelby video 🤷‍♀️
