I remember working at gamestop and bringing this home one night, new. Had a nice tv, surround, etc. I remember hearing the xenomorph in the rear speakers and just dropping the controller like "nope, f*** this, I'm a p****. Impressive game. I'm ok no need to play anymore! lol. I'm a child of the 80's so naturally those movies were pretty much the first creature feature / sci fi horror movies I'd ever been exposed to. I have a primal fear of those things. So, I returned Alien Isolation as new when I got back into work, used the box out on the shelf as a another display box for "new". More visibility with 2 boxes on the floor anyways. :P

To me the best survival horror game ever! Lights off, headphones on, and then just tighten everything in your body and hold your breath so that only your face can be startled. It was so scary that I could only play it for like 2 hours before i was demolished. Next day, same receipy. Loved it, loved it, loved it!

Seeing as you got 1K likes, if you get to playing this again, here are some helpful tips: -Running alerts enemies where you are, especially the Xenomorph. There is minimal difference between walking and crouching in terms of sound. -The yellowish-white screens lit up and are about waist high are what you use to update maps. 1:05:00 for an example. -You missed the blueprint for a smoke bomb in the room right before you found the flight recorder and fixed the hack tool. Lying on the table in front of the yellow boxes at 1:10:15. It's not necessary to get it and you can find an upgraded blueprint of it later on. -You can commit building materials to items without needing to build the item at the time. So if you are maxed out on something like Ethanol, put it into a Molotov, even if you can't build it yet, then you can pick up the material you find. You can have a max of 3 items each with the Medkit a max of 6. You can still put materials in to build, even if you are maxed out on said item. -When you get a certain item to ward the Alien off, use it sparingly as it will learn and build resistance to it the more it's used. -If you hide in a locker, don't pull the motion tracker up if the Xenomorph is nearby. -To determine if Androids are friendly or not, look at the eyes. Red=attacking. White=calm or helpful. Except when it's lying on the ground, then never turn away from them if you are within their reach. If you attack an android with white eyes, it will start attacking you in return. -The Xenomorph isn't always active and you can get through some sections without it being present, usually you have to sneak by or deal with other hostiles though. You can still attract the Xenomorph to take care of them with loud noises, but it will never fully go away then. -Watch out for dripping ceiling vents. -In Mission 8, when calling the transit to meet up with Waits, use one round to shoot the stairs to your right after calling it.
