Good experiment fairly conducted. The next 70 years will add much confidence to what you have learnt! As a young man I though that nutrition was simple. Energy in less energy out, I don't think that anymore. I think now that the body is a survival engine, programmed to respond to the environment it experiences. If food is plentiful and easily obtained it concentrates on food storage. If food is scarce and energy demands are high it concentrates on energy recycling. Like Tom Peters it has "A bias for action". Exercise regulates diet, the more one does physical work the more one eats. Going to the gym makes your diet stronger. I have gone to the gym off and on, most of my life. I like it. My own experience is of a pattern of slow and steady weight gain from maturity at around 23 to 45. Then I discovered gout. Not happy! Doctors know nothing about gout, except which painkillers and anti inflammatory pills to take when the previous ones start to fail. Everything causes gout. So one needs to fix everything. I started excluding things and over the next 25 years I lost 28 kg and eliminated gout and ended up on the Carnivore diet. If I was not so damn smart I would have done it quicker but I kept reading medical stuff, even though I already knew that Doctors know nothing about gout. Hopefully others will learn more quickly than I did that Carnivore is the proper human diet. Love to see young guys discover the path.

The carnivore diet changed my life. I cant eat any other diet now. It made me discover how abysmal I felt before and what foods caused me to function poorly. I'm at the point where I will take average quality meat over literally any other type of food. It helps me function that much better. This is purely anecdotal, but it has solved many of my personal health issues. On a final note, when people ask me about my diet and trying it, I tell them not to go full carnivore overnight. Take 2 weeks to start working towards full carnivore, then transition. The carnivore purge (diarrhea) is a real thing for roughly the first 2 weeks. Some say it's all the plant toxins leaving your body. I can't say whether or not that's true, but the phenomenon is real.

I'm an ecologist and from the sustainability front, if we converted all land used to grow crops, (especially monoculture crops like soy and corn) and used it instead for rotational grazing, where much more meat can be produced per hectare, then it is much more sustainable than the current agriculture sector. Rotational grazing also helps increase biodiversity and reduces soil erosion

Okay so this is something I definitely didn’t consider. But after watching your video I’ve started adding meats that are at the lower end of the food chain. Prawns, catfish, mussels, etc. it helps immensely with the carnivore diet because of how tasty they are. The longest I’ve gone in a carnivore diet is a week and I always fail because the urge to consume sugars becomes too intense. I literally start dreaming of custard filled donuts after day 5. For some reason I assumed that a carnivore diet includes only red meat, eggs, and chicken. There’s literally hundreds of different kinds of meats which all have a unique taste. Prawns and crabs especially have that slight sweetness which is not attributed to sugars. This helps with sticking to the discipline.
@trecybedkowska3863 Жыл бұрын
If some seafoods with chitin are okay for you, means you are okay with amino sugar. All in all going carnivore does not mean not consuming ‘sugar’ , since the foods are mostly high in glutamate or L-Glutamine. If those foods are not changed into glucose, the body will not survive. It’s just that the metabolism are longer and less economical for the body with fats or protein than with carbs. Hence your craving for the simple carbs is understandable. The microbiome that digest fats, do like digesting simple carbs. This makes me understand of the restrictive or even extreme nature of carnivorism. The choice/microbiome variety/competent is so limited, so they only capable to digest mostly fats or simple/refined sugars. It’s convinced me even better to choose the path where my microbiome varieties and its competences are at its best, so they can crush or digest just anything. In addition to that, without loosing the sensitivity of some nerve cells due to high glutamate consumptions. So, seafood could be key to bridge that, once a carnivore wishes to switch. I wonder what happens to the pancreatic cells over times under such strict conditioning.

Until recently, we had no idea plants were trying to kill us. We fell off keto for a while, and both gained back a lot of weight and had added health concerns. Now, after just 2 mos of carnivore, I'm down 30 lbs, and my wife is down 25 lbs. Wife's BP is now in the normal range for the first time in 2 years. Some people are better suited for this way of eating than others, and we, being from northern European and Norwegian ancestry, and having type O blood, respond incredibly well to an all meat/animal product diet. Those who descend from more tropical or temperate climates can likely tolerate more variety in the way of veggies, fruits and spices. Definitely not a one-size-fits-all scenario.

One key about the carnivore diet is getting enough fat - for some people, the ideal is 50/50 fat to protein - in which case, calories are not a problem - and this diet is NOT about calories. Fat is what the body burns for energy in place of the sugar and carbohydrates, and uses that energy to digest and process the protein. It seems counter-intuitive, but more animal fat in your diet will give you better overall results. I noted that most of the plates you served did NOT have much fat - salmon and seafood aren't noted for their fat content, and the steaks were nicely trimmed. one other thing I've found - research is generally questionable; most labs depend on support from major corporations to fund their studies . . . thus, it's easy for a study to end up with results that support the sale of an end product. The original study claiming a correlation between high saturated fats and heart disease actually cherry-picked the examples used to support their theory, ignoring communities with high fat consumption but low coronary disease.

Just wanted to point something out. I've started with it a few months ago and no problems here. Only downside for me was preparing my food for work and stuff. But I wanted to let people know and think about this. Eating just meat is not as destructive to the environment as certain people would want you to believe. Just think of it this way, if you are a Vegan getting your stuff in nature is fine, however Vegan's buy their stuff in shops and those vegetables are 'made' The farmer, the people that have to harvest it, use all kinds of chemicals to keep off the insects, kill rodents/rabbit etc and need bees to work, then use trucks etc to gather and deliver it to shops etc. You get my point. It actually does more harm than just meat. We don't live in the year 1200 or so where you could survive by hunting and gathering manual. Also meat may be more expensive but it depends on where you get it and what you eat. For me the costs is about the same than eating normal. So no change with costs for me.

You're only going to see a small fraction of the benefits at 30 days, so I hope you keep going. Organ meats are overrated. There are more than enough nutrients in regular meat and eggs, even non-grass fed. I agree that dairy is not necessary or beneficial.

This diet changed my life, before starting I had tried many fad diets and failed after two weeks. Carnivore diet was the only one that kept me on track with no cravings. I went from eating junk food,chips,lollies,chocolate to eating animal products and I’ve never felt better. My starting weight was 152kg and is now down to 145kg after one month with no exercise involved. I sleep better,my energy is fantastic and no pain throughout my body. I only buy meat from local farmers markets,I use ghee as a dipping sauce for the meat. Grass fed butter to cook with. My advice is stay completely away from meat at supermarkets as it’s full of bad ingredients that you don’t need.

Sustainability? I think the vast acres of mono crops that are needed to produce grains to ‘feed the world’ are much more destructive on the environment than grazing animals. I’ve also found that I eat a lot less food on the CV diet whereas you were the opposite. And again there is a lot less food waste. Also a lot less bodily waste and intestinal gas which I also think is better for the environment 😂
@vibeflow123 Жыл бұрын
well in general meat production takes up much more ressources than production of plant food, so sustainibility is (in general - maybe not for some areas) certainly a topic

@YogawithAliBeale Жыл бұрын
Honey sticks might be the easiest way to get some sugar carbs in when you need it and easy to carry. That would still keep you compliant.

lol your start weight is less than my goal weight XD I've done a month and gone from 94kg to 85kg and lost 5% body fat. My carnivore eating is an ingrained routine now. Eggs with left over meat, bacon, or fish for lunch. Ribeye in butter for diner. I have home made Lamb liver pate in the fridge. I'm 170cm tall and 41 years old. My exercise is building an annex on my house. Lots of digging, carrying and brick laying etc. Never felt better.

At one time I was researching cats. Cats are by nature obligatory carnivores and they get lots of health problems when their owners feed them cheap carb-based pellets. I have never suspected that humans might also be obligatory carnivores, since we are told that our tooth structures show that humans are all-eaters.

Sustainable? Yes, the animals are eating on pastures not suited for grains. (unless you buy the sad grain fed factory meat)

When doing carnivore diet, if you're going to implement cheese, that would suggest Buffalo. I'll also switch your meat every day. I had steak one day and then chicken today

I'm also rather skinny , i went carnivore after being keto for a year for 2 months. I lost too much weight and I realized I needed to reintroduce some carbs in the form of potatoes , rice and the occasional pasta. I sometimes also eat some fruit and honey. Overall carnivore is great if you want to lose weight , but for me its more about reaching equilibrium.

Can I ask you how much pounds of meat were you eating daily what height you are?
@thebanished87 Жыл бұрын

@@thebanished87 yeh I think you have to really up the protein intake if you want to gain/maintain weight I am eating 3 pounds of meat a day with lots of fat for the last week been trying it with no eggs no dairy see if I feel any different.
@thebanished87 Жыл бұрын
@@thepopeisdope559 maybe you are right . I since tried to have a more relaxed approach to food . I just eliminate sugars, processed foods , oils and the vegetables that give me inflammation. If you are burning 2500 to 3000 calories they say you should eat 3-lbs so you won’t feel hungry and keep protein. Also did you add supplements such as salt , potassium and magnesium. You need to keep electrolytes.

I cycle 5+ hours daily so I fit more into the endurance sport so I consume red meat & fish (no bird meat) healthier fats and proteins. Red meat early in the day and fish after strain for quick absorption of protein since fish breaks down rapidly. And always with a side of green like carrot etc for the fish and only brussel sprouts with the red meat for the carbs needed to burn through and my life has been sooo much better.

I would eat Celery for some fiber. Celery is extremely low in digestible carbs. A one-cup (101-g) serving of chopped celery contains 3 g of carbs, 2 of which are fiber. It's a good source of vitamin K, providing 25% of the DV ( 49 ).

See how pale that salmon was, definitely worth investing in wild salmon fresh off the boat, when it's actually bright red, pale salmon is farmed full of antibiotics and diseases. Grass fed beef, don't scrimp and save wen your putting food in your body, I even buy top oil for my car. Carnivore is great tho, just make sure you buy the heathest foods.

The biggest problem with the studies against meat and it's affect on cancer growth is their consideration of what red meat is. Pizza is considered general meat. So that is lumped in with meats like steaks and such which is crazy.

For some reason I see a lot of people doing intermittent fasting and eating carnivore. Now I guess that might work for you but to me its crazy. Your body while being carnivore is a fat burning machine. Then you are never lethargic on carnivore after eating. I really can't think of a benefit from intermittent fasting while eating carnivore.
@polkhigh_3311 ай бұрын
The benefit is in your mental focus, your energy level and your digestion. Our body is not built to digest frequently. We should be either feasting and resting, or fasting and performing. If youre feasting 24/7, youre basically forcing activity on top of your digestion, which works best when resting.

I love what the carnivore diet does for me in the short run. We have no idea yet what the cardiovascular impact will be in 30 years in it. But if A1c, inflammation markers, fasting insulin, and low visceral fat is any indication then one would assume it should be good.
