@@momentsformoms9467 my youngest daughter was similar to your son. When she did sleep I was blessed if she did so for 4 hours. She would stay awake 24 to 48 hours. Then sleep maybe for 4 hours and the routine was like this until she was 6 to 7 years old. The funny part was how my night routine went. 🤣 She stayed in her playpen from 8pm until 6am. Her baby brother was in the bassinet during that time with me on the couch. 😂 With my husband's schedule it was the only way I knew he could get his rest. I was able to keep an eye/ear on child with no need to sleep. Had several folks including a Dr say, "Lock her in her bedroom". I was not going to do that. It was tempting one time when she was up over the 48hours.

@@ajalicea1091 sounds like a good schedule. I would’ve liked to have done something like that but I had to work three weeks after I had him. Also we lived with his dads family 😭😭 (it was hell) and their mom would wake him up as soon as I got him to sleep (on purpose, like she put in effort to do so). Then she’d tell me I was a bad mom bc he was up ‘so late’ and she’d take him & I was a bad mom bc I let her and went to get some sleep before work 😒. I also did all their chores bc it was a really dirty house otherwise. I’m glad it worked out for you,and your family. ❤️

My favourite Flylady quote is "do what you can today, and then do a little more tomorrow". Even she doesn't push people to do all of the things on her list. It's a guideline that you change to fit your own house, and is built up over months and years.

Congratulations to you all on the arrival of your beautiful baby girl. She is adorable. Now Ariel, you need to watch the last few minutes of this video and take your own advice. You’ve just had a baby, you need to relax, sleep if you can when the baby sleeps, ask people to help out and nobody minds helping either. You know if a friend asked you to help them you would do it no problem. It’s great that your church is so thoughtful too. Enjoy this time because you know already it goes way too quickly. Start with a bowl full of very hot water and do the glases first. put them to the side tidy them up right away. Then the plates. Tidy them up. same with the cups, the cutllery. Try to do pots and pans the very last. Lots of luck and congratulation to the newborn baby. She ist very cute. Greetings from France

I pulled the mattress out of the crib on the floor for me. I put the baby in his chair. I got my daughter a glass of water and Cheerios if she needed a snack. I shut the 3 of us in my daughters room where she could play safely. We stayed in there most of the day. It was the only way I could get through those 2 weeks.

I had to do all the work (not their laundry though, but our 3) myself. I didn’t cook, but also got yelled at any time I tried to learn bc their mom had to be the greatest,& I was insulting her by wanting to make my own food. Hers was gross though,& they didn’t even believe in hygiene which made it so much worse.

My first child would wake within 15 minutes of me putting him down, unless I was next to him. Cue co-sleeping, disposable night time nappies and days full of KZbin and DVDs with the occasional nap when I needed it :) 8 years later now and baby 2 and 3 were fine to put down and I don't even remember the last time my 8 year old had me up in the night. We've trained him to not wake us up when he gets up earlier than the rest of us lol.

1st time finding your channel. It should be slippers, not shoes. should n ever wear shoes in a house that has been out on sidewalks. This may help, do a load of wash in evenings when power is cheaper. I fold the clothes into a basket, in morning I put $ store hangers which open like an umbrella over a broom stick over 2 nice plant hanger brackets attached to each side of the door casing. I open the outer door to do this while I hang the clothing on the many pins. Then take it out onto a similar bracket-broom handle set up on the back wall. The sun shines there even in winter, wind blows out wrinkles. At evening when I am finishing my day, I just bring it all in on the hanger things, hook it back on the inside setup & they can stay there until all early evening things are done, then stuff can be taken off onto closet hangers or folded into a basket that goes to the locations that clothing belongs. A 4 yr old is old enough to do that as a morning chore...put his own things away, babies stuff away & parents stuff on a specific chair. I keep a small $30 Bissel vac always pluged in on an extension chord. A quick vacuum daily keeps dust off everything else. The cup gets empty, rinsed out. Disgusting to see the hair, dust etc that was on the floor in just a day or 2 at most. A child can use that, then wind up the chord, tuck the vacuum behind the couch or where ever he ended (I use a clay pot to stand it in). Next day, start there & go the other direction. You just move the plug end on the long extension chord. 1 more tip, always have large bibs on the baby & an apron with shoulders that zips up in front so that will cut down a lot on laundry. I always put my baby beneath the top I was wearing to breast feed discretely & to not mess up my overall look. Can sit & talk w. friends & they don't necessarily know that the baby has moved from your lap to beneath the sweatshirt or blouse. And baby loves more skin contact of your abdomen & the darker location. Often fall asleep & can just be lifted out wihtout much movement. Not fighting w. righting your clothes at all. New babies are not easy in many ways.

What’s helping me is setting timers similar to the zones she uses, I set a timer for 20 minutes for the living room and 25 minutes for the kitchen. Whatever gets done is an accomplishment and I don’t worry about what doesn’t. Because I agree, this time with your baby is more important. As Flylady says, adapt it to what works for you! When I was deep in the flying community a few years ago I discovered that alot of people did special grippy house socks or slippers instead of shoes. As someone who grew up barefoot it was probably the hardest one I actually managed to do (sink never shines but my bed does!) but it's also the only one I do almost every day and when I'm too sick I've still got slippers on. Only downside is now I can't walk around outside barefoot without my heels cracking, dangit! Lol

I love that you’re feeling well and you’re back. I like to run a sink of clean hot water so that I can gather the freshly scrubbed dishes there and you don’t use as much water by just letting the water run to rinse. How else are you meant to make PBJ? I mean…is there another way? I like a 2:1 ratio of PB to Jelly. 🤷🏾‍♀️ Also, sit down. Take some rest. You just had a baby. All of that cleaning stuff will be managed by someone else. Snuggle those babies. Screw the cleaning schedule.

Wow. I was exhausted just watching your routine. I have two pieces of advice after 42 years of marriage and 3 grown daughters. 1. Get Hubby on some those evening dishes and rubbish bin clearing jobs, starting the day with a clean kitchen is so uplifting. 2. If your washer has a timer, put it on before bed time so it is ready for the dryer or line when you wake up. Your son is a great little helper.

Your new daughter is absolutely gorgeous. Congratulations, you have two beautiful children. Don’t be too hard on yourself, do the absolute necessities and don’t worry about the rest. The dust will wait. But your babies won’t. My babies are now in their 30s almost 40 and how I wish I could do it all over again. Enjoy your precious babies, and take care of yourself.

Oh my goodness! I’ve missed you so, so much. Your children are beautiful. You are right about the laundry. It waits. I think there should be a cleaning list for the first three months that has holding sleeping baby as a daily task. I do not regret a single moment of mine on my chest while I grabbed a nap too. Those naps helped me to be kind and present. I had no idea it’s called baby wearing. I just did it to rest my arms. My youngest would nap while I wore him but put him down and every alarm in his body shouted,”Scream at humanly impossible decibels.” Ah. The magic of tiny people. Afternoon walks are so wonderful. Good for everyone and the Jace gets you pretty much to himself. People don’t mention it but after the second baby your body is really great at cleaning out a uterus. You should get credit for that cleaning too. Lol I’m glad you are enjoying this time. Please don’t feel obligated to reply. Just kiss all three of your humans and get a nap. 💚💙💗

First off your children are beautiful! My granddaughters name is Kylah so your daughter's name gave me an extra smile. 💗 Baby swaddling is an underrated skill, babies sleep so well when swaddled, and yes, looking like a baby burrito 🌯 is darling! Congrats on the little one and bravo 👏 on what you managed to get done!

Congratulations and blessings on the precious pumpkin! Kudos for not only trying to get back to a normal routine so quickly, but for filming and editing it! Yikes! Great job! It is definitely ok to recover and rest after giving birth, but it was inspiring to see you get dressed, make the bed, and tackle even a portion of your chores. Certainly your health comes first, but wonder if at least the getting dressed and making the bed part made you feel better! Love your sense of humor. Great job mom!

I am on chapter 10 of “Sink Reflections”. I’m really enjoying the FLY Lady. I’ve had a rule since I was 16 years old (I’m 62 now) No dishes in the sink” has been my motto. I get depressed when I see dirty dishes in the sink. So when I’m cooking I use the “clean as you go method.” I keep the stovetop clean as I go as well. SoI subscribed to your channel and I admire you already. 4 year old, new baby, and just starting as a new fly baby yourself. You Go Girl!

🍽🥄🍴My kids and husband have a hard time remembering to rinse dishes, especially utensils. I put a container or dish in the sink we use less and fill it with hot water and soap. This is where we put utensils now until it’s time to do dishes. I’m thinking this might work for you. Fill sink or dish tub partially with water and soap. Drop dishes in there until you can do dishes. Even if water is cold, the soap is still breaking up crud. Less scrubbing later. 😁

An ergo 360 saved me with my third baby. I had three kids within 4 years and it was a GAME CHANGER! My baby would stay asleep in it while I would do routines. Also when I would grocery shop he was so happy in it, it was like he wasn’t even there😂 I love a content baby lol I literally laughed out loud when you said to get to church and seek the Lord! When we had my third we had food for like two weeks thanks to my wonderful church family ❤

You are such an inspiration!!! I did the card file system taught by the book, The Sidetracked Home Executives written by two sisters who called themselves the Slob Sisters. I was an amazing housekeeper for six weeks, then went to work full time and it went totally the opposite direction for a lot of years. It got better when I found FLYLADY , who with permission improved the SLOB Sisters system. Bvut I just kept trying to organize CHAOS rather than decluttering. I wish I had gotten a handle on the decluttering so I wouldn't be 71 and me dealing with a lot of really great crafting items and a household way too full of really great stuff that I can't take with me when I die and I don't want my family to have to deal with!!! I am going to love watching you and your lovely family do life together. Thanks for your videos, I know they are a lot of work.

I'm actually not sure I even remember the first week after my son was born. Like, between strong medication and exhaustion and breastfeeding disaster struggles.... did I even eat? I have no idea now. I definitely wasn't cleaning anything. I'm pretty sure I spent half the time I was awake crying for various reasons. Great job with this! Real life reminders are beautiful 🙂
