Some things I would love to see would be: • Random uncommon patches of Cobwebs on the ceilings of caves, with this obtaining string can be a little bit easier than either hunting a spider or waiting for nighttime • Bundles being part of Loot for inhabited structures like Villages, Outposts, Mansions and Bastions • Bundles being sold by a Wandering Trader and Leather Worker. Sure bundles are easy to make, but this would be a good QoL for challenge worlds like Skyblock or Superflats • Dyeable Bundles

You're the only content creator I know who was willing to learn how to use the bundle in a survival experience, so I'll take your word for it, but I still wish we could use the scroll functionality to access the bottom depths of the bundle. I understand wanting to include parity between all versions of the game, but I feel like for something so UI coded it would be best for each game version to use the unique UI that's best for that version. For Java edition, it would be awesome to be able to go back to the full contents, with the added scroll functionality.
@OrigamiMarie2 ай бұрын
I haven't used the experimental bundles at any stage yet. I can see how it would be a little tricky to make potentially a UI box for the bundle that gracefully shows anywhere from 1 to 64 different stacks. And I can also see how having the 15 slots all jump to the left when you scroll, wouldn't be a great experience. But I wonder if it would be fine to keep scrolling once you get to the last slot, and have just the item in that slot scroll through the remaining bundle items?
@jonadabtheunsightly2 ай бұрын
Parity between Bedrock and Java is a pipe dream, honestly. It would literally be easier, and probably not very much more controversial with the player community, to port Java Edition to the mobile platforms and write off the super-low-end devices that just fundamentally can't handle it (for future versions of the game; let them keep the versions they already have of course, but people who have twenty-year-old consoles can't realistically expect new versions to keep supporting that hardware forever). This would mean Java Edition would need comprehensive touch screen support, but that's not nearly as much of a pain as trying to unify things like redstone timings between the two implementations.
@nicholasfitzgerald54822 ай бұрын
For the amount of scroll menus there are on Bedrock, I feel having a scroll bar for the bundle on bedrock would not feel out of place. It's really not fair to Java players that they can't have a properly implemented feature because they don't want to give 8 year old Timmy on his mom's iPhone a scroll bar.
@RePorpoised2 ай бұрын
The issues with bedrock edition would be just as prevalent with a ported java edition. Mobile mechanics function differently than pc and bedrock is already tailor-made to handle mobile, console and pc while java would have to do a LOT of work to get a decent control scheme. Proof of how difficult it is can be seen in how long the bundle took to fully appear, managing how to best use it on all platforms as well as the fact that bedrock still doesn’t have proper offhand support, since they need a proper mobile interface to make good use of it. That interface exists for about a year now, but they need players to actually adopt that control scheme to make the offhand work with less issues. Worse yet, due to the lack of optimization on java, most devices would barely be able to run it, which at that point, what use does it even offer to add a control scheme to such a limited platform. Mojang won’t let go of Bedrock edition either, it has one of their highest userbases and is the very cashcow that’s allowing for continued yearly updates on both versions to even function as an economic model on what is a more-or-less one-time-purchase game.

Being able to pack a bunch of random stuff around with you while you're looking for a village or a good place to start a base is huge. I also like it for hiding weapons that I rarely use like shears, flint and steel, or a hoe early game. Now they need to make saddles easy to obtain early game. I hate that by the time you typically obtain a saddle you don't really need it anymore. You should be able to craft one out of a few leather and an ingot or something.

A lot of what you’re talking about are unstackables. Tools like shears, or saddles(i don’t really get WHY these are unstackables) won’t really benefit from the bundle. However, the bundle will likely clean up the rest of your inventory, giving you more open space for your tools.

The biggest thing I can say is like Pixlriffs did here, play in survival with a bundle before you downplay it. The early exploration and resource gathering is so much nicer when you don't have to go back right away or ignore things you find due to inventory room. You can even take bundle making supplies with you in a bundle and make more as you go along. I was hesitant to use bundles when I first read about them but while waiting for 1.21 to come out I went and made an experimental world to try them without knowing they'd be something for the next release and I found them wonderful to use. Like Pix showed the ability to carry all the different "good stuff" (diamonds, iron, etc) where you can convert them to blocks so you never need more than two slots to hold the various items works really nice. I kept a bundle like Pix did for the crafting stations and added some more bundle making materials and a 1/4 stack of doors for those ocean ruin archaeology attempts early on. I found that I really liked the bundles for early game and it really makes not having shulkers not seem as bad. Nice video Pixlriffs, glad you tried them again and found them to be a bit better than you did in the last video.
@kungfuzing10182 ай бұрын
I'm excited for Bundles for an odd reason. Think about how many possible decorational blocks there are in the game. There are too many to reasonably think of and fit into your shulker box. But with bundles as they are now, it's super easy to have a couple of bundles of decorations to put into your current project box and bring with! That workstation point you made in the video was also a great point.
@Van-dq4sw2 ай бұрын
I think the point about where the bundles has advantages over a shulker box re: inventory efficiency (as well as their synergy) is really helpful. I'm thinking about every time I've planned a build with block variants and just decided to lug along a stonecutter to do all my variation on-site since making slabs and stairs and walls beforehand just leads to that inventory clutter issue, even with a shulker box. If I'd just used a bundle instead, I could've done the variation beforehand (and probably still brought the stonecutter in the bundle anyways) and not had to keep stopping a build to make stairs I knew I'd need to make all along. (And if the suggestion of dyeable bundles ends up being added, even the better for sorting - one bundle full of 16 different copper variants can be easy to keep organized.) Shulkers are macro; bundles are micro.

I think a lot of the complaints about bundles are from people who want them to be shulkers, which they are not. Shulkers are portable chests. A bundle is it’s own thing and will be so useful in early game. I have had to go back to my base so many times when exploring early game because I have my inventory full of random stuff like flowers, an emerald or two, a grindstone from a village, a few pieces of gunpowder. It can help condense that sooo much and let me explore longer

The only problem I see, and I don't really play anymore so I'm sure it doesn't matter... But I almost don't see the use or excitement of shulkers at this point... Surely you'll wanna use both but there's not gonna be any excitement from getting those first shulkers. You won't have much of a reason to rush to the end to get em anymore. They just gave you "we have shulker boxes at home" for free at the very beginning!

I think one of my biggest problems with the bundle currenty is its capacity meter. They probably went with this instead of the "X/64" label because some items take up more than 1 space, but to me the meter is not very indicative of exactly how full or how much space left there is within it. I don't want to have to do math. If the meter were made up of a bunch of bars with a thickness dependent upon the item's size, (Example: one cobblestone would be 1 bar, one snow ball would have the thickness of 4), I think it would be easier to gauge exactly how much room is left.
@Pixlriffs2 ай бұрын
I’d like them to print the number over the capacity meter. They already do this when the bundle is full - it gets a text overlay saying “full”. I guess it might be difficult to read when it’s half full and the text has to read against the bar colour and background colour

The storing of work blocks was especially brilliant; I can totally see that making a few bundles would basically let you run around and explore more freely w/o having to return to base often to store loot in chests. Nevermind the ability to use bundles, shulker boxes and ender chests all simultaneously to truly have a universally accessible storage system on the go; bundles cover exactly the one thing that all other storage systems lack: the ability to compress a variety of stackables. Really looking forward to bundles being released as a mainline update.

I like the improvements they made from the previous snapshot to the bundle. One thing I'd like to see, would be that if you have an item in the bundle highlighted and then press a number, that item in the bundle should move to the hot bar slot, and not the bundle. If no item is highlighted then the whole bundle should move to the specified hot bar slot. This would take out one step when trying to take an immediate use item out, like with your workstation use case.

Improvement suggestion: It would be good if they could make it so that if you have more items than can be shown at once, if you keep scrolling it will rotate through the rows, wrapping around. So IOW if you get to the last item of the last visible row, scroll again and the top row becomes the last row (and thus no longer visible), and the next row comes into view. That way you would be able to get to everything by scrolling and see everything without having to dump stuff out.
@Xacris2 ай бұрын
One of the issues that I have with the UI is how they populate those rows of items, and honestly the fact that they seem to have gone with the concept of rows as being the important part of the UI. If you have 12+ types of items, it often shows less than that because of them being arranged in "rows" that are invisible to the player. They could do better by showing the 12 items that have the most recent interaction time rather than trying to enforce a grid, most of which the player can't even see

I feel like bundles should be able hold unstackable items too. Like that craftinf table furnace and so on bundle, there is no reason to not be able to put in a bed too. I feel like the compromise with non stackable items could be that you can only put 1 of each in. So you can add a bed, packup pickaxe, and maybe some tools you needs less ofte , like a hoe for caving. And obviously all those items should still just count for 1 item. The point of bundles is to get clean up our inventory of all the things you only have a few of, and a bed or backup pickaxe clearly fits that description really well

I think a good addition would be a toolbelt. It holds exactly 9 items including unstackables and clicking it in your inventory replaces your hotbar with the contents of the toolbelt. Another suggestion is an ender bundle, it works like the "Shadowing" tech docm77 showed a couple years ago in season 8. In your inventory the bundle would pull in items matching a filter and placed in a chest it would deposit items. They are linked like an enderchest so matching items you pick up would be taken from your inventory and deposited into chests. In your video you picked a load of deepslate, the ender bundle could take all that out and place it in chests without you needing to return home.
@RePorpoised2 ай бұрын
Those seem really quite strong. I always figured if we were getting some answer to unstackables, it would probably only apply for 3-4 similar items. Thus spare pickaxes could get compressed down into a slot, or you could do the same with other tools, totems, enchanted books, potions. Any more than a few items become really, really powerful in a way that completely throws the entire game out of balance. Even with only 3-4 items, that still has the feel of a fairly late game item. It can’t be too good, because people will always choose to optimize as much as they can and if that means they stuff all their shulkerboxes to multiply each slot by 4, they WILL.

It seems like an obvious solution that would level up bundles. Also, (and I'm probably overlooking something obvious here, so please let me know what it is) what would be the problem with allowing bundles to collect multiple unstackables? Bundles being able to bundle bundles is a neat feature that I didn't know existed, though I'm not sure how much use it will actually have, but still nice to allow. In modded, you can change the stack size, there are bundle like objects that hold as much as several chests, backpacks, tool belts, etc. A seperate bundle-like object specifically for unstackables would probably feel the most vanilla though.
@MiningForPies2 ай бұрын
What’s the point of that though. Why not just remove the non stackable flag on items if that’s the way they go down.
@BinaryWhale2 ай бұрын
@@MiningForPies yeah, there's not much reason why totems, beds, bows, crossbows, shields, gold armor, flint and steel, spyglass, shears, and a bunch of other stuff shouldn't stack. I changed those to all be stackable. It really helped with the bundle's usefulness early and mid game. I chose gold armor because it's something you need in the nether, but otherwise not usable anywhere else.

Stackable totems? Really?
@crimsonfire69322 ай бұрын
One thing I’d like to see implemented is the ability to view your items from your inventory and remove them inside the inventory added to shulker boxes and ender chests. The bundle has the unique property of allowing you to stack unlike items together, but shulkers and ender chests are portable chests. No reason why you shouldn’t be able to interact with them inside your inventory just like you can with the bundle.

I can definitely see the use cases for bundles while shulkers are for bulk items bundles are for all that random stuff you picked up on your hour-long journey all the flowers you thought were interesting some saplings and random items you found in chests and considering you can put them in shulkers you could probably go hours and hours without having to think about your inventory

I cant wait for bundles to be officialy in the game!!! I already looooved them but now that we can scroll trough it it just makes them almost perfect!!! 😍😍😍 i am sad tho that we cant see everything at once when you have alot of stuff since it was somrthing we could do before. I also wish that the empty bundle keep its actual sprite instead of looking like a full one. I think its the only things im a bit disapointed, but for the rest, 😍😍😍😍😍

I think my main use for the bundle is going to be sorting my inventory. Minerals in one, mob drops in another, etc. Edit: Another use I just thought of that is phenomenal is shulker box material sorting. You can't place shulker boxes in each other, but you can put bundles in. You can maximize space or sort your items further. Have a stone blocks shulker with all the cobblestone stuff in bundles and all the deepslate in different bundles and so on.

I instinctively want to hover over a Bundle and hold "Shift". If implemented, this would allow the UI to "lock" allowing the mouse cursor to move over it to pick items out. Which is how I think it should work. I really hate the "last in, first out" method. I do prefer the original grey UI though, and I prefer that it allowed all 64 items to be displayed cleanly.
@EpicMuttonChops2 ай бұрын
best solution for the current bundle inventory issues: just let it have 12 inventory slots. that way, you can have 12 unstackable items, or you can carry more than one stack of rotten flesh or bones while caving, if you choose to save those items, and you won't have to worry about items being hidden inside

it seems like a lot of people would use bundles to store compactable items. so it would be neat if bundles could be enchanted to automatically do that compacting for you. automatically doing reversable 3x3 and 2x2 crafting recipes

My 2 main gripes with the Bundle in it's current form: 1) When they changed the recipe for one Leather instead of Rabbit Hides. This was the only thing making the Rabbit Hides feel actually useful for something. Yeah Rabbits can be hard to come by, but they could have fixed that by renaming Rabbit Hides "Leather Piece" or something, and make the 4 Rabbit Hides to 1 Cow Leather recipe work in both directions. Or even better, make the process not entirely lossless. 4 Rabbit Hides into 1 Cow Leather, but 1 Cow Leather into 3 Rabbit Hides. While at it, make the recipe a bit more costly. So it takes 5 or maybe 7 Rabbit Hides and one String to make one Bundle. Wasted opportunity to make something in this game NOT a multiple of 4, for once. would feel more organic. 2) I think removing the keyboard number key to access the item inside the Bundle was the right move. But it could have been even better. Best would be to basically make it so when you don't touch the mouse wheel at all, pressing a key would warp the WHOLE Bundle into that number slot. But when you DO scroll the wheel and point to another item inside the bundle, pressing a number key would warp ONLY THE ITEM you are pointing at with the wheel to that numbered slot. AND move whatever item is in that numbered slot INTO the Bundle. Guess somewhere along the way, I came to terms with the gripe that the Bundle can only hold one stack of items' worth of inventory space. I guess we still need something to deal with that, But I somehow get the feeling that making the current Bundle capable of holding 3 stacks worth of items would introduce an opportunity to create a bug in the game so that by killing a Slow-Falling Zombie holding a Bundle full of renamed items it would duplicate a whole chunk or something.

23:35 Waaait, you can put bundles inside of bundles? So if I put Bundle 1 inside Bundle 2, would it count the contents of Bundle 1 as part of the item count in Bundle 2, or would Bundle 1 just count as 1 item within bundle 2 (regardless of Bundle 1's own contents)? If it's the latter, that would MASSIVELY save on inventory space, right? You could have a bundle with 64 bundles inside, that each have 64 bundles/items inside them? - or am I just reading into that completely wrong?!
@DovonMac12 ай бұрын
17:04 toolbox, tool bucket, tool belt. How this item works if you hover over the toolbox you can select the item just like in a the bundle but instead of pulling out the item it shifts to the front and when you are holding the toolbox that first item appears and the toolbox dangles on the character model. It has a max capacity of eight tools and tools only.

Seems like it would be good for early game storage systems where you are looking to store a couple items of a few variants in a smaller space.
@Neongod222 ай бұрын
Adding a stick to the bundle would be a good way to be able to use it in the off-hand slot. Maybe even with it in the off-hand, what you pick up would be put into it automatically. ??

I can see the use Bundles can provide but I will say this: They are a big missed oportunity to give players backpacks. I am not saying that bundles are bad. I can most certainly see how I could even make use of them. But at this stage it feels a lot like "We have to make due with what we are getting" over "We are asking you to improve this, not give us a half baked idea." Cause that is what Bundles are to me. A half baked idea. Great for early game but late game its shulkers out of your backside. No one will use these Bundles anymore after they got: Enderchests (which are easily gotten) + Shulkerboxes (not so easy but once you got them, you got them en mass). Instead what the bundles could have been is an early game extension of your inventory by two rows as a backpack. Something you have to actively equip on your back. You cannot access the inventory space if it isnt on the back. You HAVE TO have it equiped to use it. But this in turn is just... Yay more free slots for 64 items totall. Which yea again has its uses for random flowers and all that stuff but if you seriously play survival, you wont have much use for it. You will easily find a place to live. You will easily find a place to store your stuff. The best the bundle can be used for is those early moments in which you may or may not find this one item you really want but dont got space for and thats about it. Bundles, in my very unprofessional and very stupid opinion, are genuinely a step in the wrong direction. "Limitation breeds creativity" is a motto Mojang keeps bringing up whenever they are asked to implement features that would genuinely improve the game. And at this stage it gets a little tiresome if not frustrating to read and hear. Cause the bundles, apologies for the wording, reek of the same designphilophy. You are limited with what you got so you HAVE TO find a way to make use of it. But you also cannot really improve it outside of that yourself unless you become a modder. The best updates the game got so far all came from the mind of the person who made the Aether. And you can tell that someone really wanted to elevate minecraft to greater heights. The Bundle? Thats just down in the Nether.

i kinda feel like the argument that bundles only holding one stack of unstackables is bad is Almost understandable? like you can't use them for gifts like giving a full stack of items And a note (you could do 63 and a renamed paper, but i think a stack And a book and quill is just better), i think them just having an extra space for unstackable items would be a good way to handle it that gives them just that One extra bit of usefulness like you could only store 2 tools, but what if you want to store your silk touch pickaxe and all the ores you've been gathering with it in one single bundle, or the other way around, wanting to store your fortune 3 pick in the bundle with your loose valuables or what if you wanted to have just two extra tools in your inventory (shovel and hoe) for a big project and really had to squeeze your Building resources into the rest of your slots (like if you're pre-shulkers) and also shulkers still wouldn't fit in bundles period, that's still a good nerf. good video, i still think the visual aspects of the new one are Extremely out of place but that's not up to me is it

In Bedrock, leather is even easier to find early-game because there's no consequence for killing all passive mobs you come across (they respawn right away unlike Java). I hope they somehow change these spawn mechanics someday to disincentivize killing random animals and encourage farming

I started using them since they were added to the game, used a datapack to add a recipe. I wonder if the 'Experimental features' text will disappear under my save file once the update rolls out. So wait, its like 2 years now that I am using them, maybe, I don't remember. And yes, they are incredible useful, the shulker boxes I have inside the ender chest have many items that would otherwise stack or items that you don't take much of, like brewing stand, cauldron, 64 maps of different areas.

@akarinnnnnn2 ай бұрын
Storing infrequently used tools and quickly storing loot items (including armor pieces and other unstackable loot items) was one of the primary uses I was looking forward to for late game uses of bundles because pulling out shulker boxes or shulker boxes within an ender chest is a pain, especially when you're in a trial chamber or ancient city or in an odd location. If allowing unstackable items to fill a bundle is too op, then perhaps they should add a 2nd more expensive bundle that does allow filling with unstackable items and is only craftable with harder to get rabbit hides.
@RePorpoised2 ай бұрын
Yeah, there does need to have something that handles unstackables. However labelling it a bundle would just create more confusion. A utility belt or any other name for something like that would suffice. Perhaps something that ONLY accepts unstackables, and can take in 3-4 of them. Maybe if it had a restriction of all items inside needing to be a similar item? So enchanted books could stack in it, pickaxes could stack in it, and other tools, armor, totems and potions could too. This feels fairly powerful, but not SO powerful that it overrides the use of shulker boxes or bundles. This would be a late game item, similarly difficult to obtain as shulkers are but similarly farmable. It would need to be, since unstackables are often the category of item that holds the most powerful ones.

honestly don't get the bundle hate at all. The Pixlriffs Bundle Promotion Initiative worked on me so well that I haven't played without a bundle since they added the option to. My favourite part of the game is typically exploring, so a bundle is perfect for storing seeds, saplings, smithing templates etc and has been since the beginning. No longer being forced to take out items one by one could really open them up to more uses though I think! As for the hotkey vs scroll wheel thing... I really wish they'd just make both an option in the control settings - have your cake and eat it too, no?
