Appreciate the feedback on year rating for coatings - always seemed like a marketing gimmick to me.

Do you have any advice on preventing water-spotting issues with your coating? I coated my wife's Black VW Atlas two weeks ago and loved the experience. I went for my first wash this past weekend and noticed water spotting everywhere. :( I couldn't remove them, but I ended up topping it with the sealant, hoping it doesn't get worse. Do you have any advice on what I should do to remove/prevent this from happening in future applications?

Are you drying after the wash? Or using DI water??

@craineyy6703 Yes to both, and use a drying aid. The issue was that it rained within the first week after applying the coating and wasn't able to wipe before etching. I didn’t think much of it since I didn't have issues with the past applications I had. This time, it ended up with water spots everywhere before the first wash. I had to fully polish them out and reapply the coating. Even though they say the coating is good after 2 hours of curing, I definitely would still be cautious with rain in the forecast, that was a fun lesson with this coating.

if you look carefully during the first 100 washes there were almost like little bubbles that formed really fast on the surface when the car shampoo touched the hood, that was the coating repelling the shampoo, after each wash the coating gradually lost its hydrophobic property which at around 400 washes you can see that the coating weren't repelling the shampoo nearly as much as it used to. Water was not beading nor dripping nearly as quick. This would be more visible if it was performed on a horizontally placed surface instead of vertically. It would be much clearer to see that water would be reluctant to drip down the surface due to wear and tear of the coating. Not to say that this is not a good product, but it doesn't mean that it is invincible.

Ok. This would have more believable if you rinsed after ever "wash." I bet this video gets taken down Cerakote.

I GET WHAT THIS VIDEO IS TRYING TO ACCOMPLISH BUT WITHOUT REAL WORLD SITUATIONS AND CONTAMINATIONS, THIS IS JUST WORTHLESS. NO COATING IS SAFE FROM CERTAIN CONTAMINATES.
