Loved it! I just got confused why your french is rusty. Like, I swear I thought you would speak in french with family and friends there lol when I went to Montreal it was mainly french I would hear. My first language is portuguese, but since I live in the US English is basically all I speak/read, so I do feel the need when speaking in portuguese to say some words in english in the middle of the sentences lol but I didn’t think it would happen to you. Ps: i love vlogs, please do more of these.

Je sais pas combien d'abonnés francophones tu dois avoir en tout, mais sache que tu as rendu chacun de nous très heureux ;) J'ai toujours été curieuse d'entendre ta voix en français, I've always been told bilingual people come across super differently just based on the language we're speaking but you sounded just like I thought you would. Y a tellement d'expressions QC qui se traduisent juste... pas en anglais tho. They're lowkey missing out on some maudite greatness.

Honestly I love seeing vlog where people don't do a lot of things because they're staying home. It gives me the feeling that I'm not alone in doing this. These are unusual times and I find it easier to cope if I see others doing the same as me (i.e. staying at home and not doing much).

It is really fun to watch you talking casually about whatever, and touching to see you dealing with the difficulties of the current state of the world. You are doing the right thing staying inside and safe, and your videos are a great help for those who share the same feeling of loneliness sometimes. Thank you for that! Pd. I love Candide :'(. It is a response and attack on Leibniz's ideas and reading him beforehand illuminates the novella so much more, although I get it can be a little outdated for the contemporary reader. Anyway, great video!

I really like your vlogs I find them really calming, this also really made me want to read The Count of Monte Cristo but my copy is in my flat at uni literally on the other side of the country. Also the part about finding it hard to see other people out especially your friends is so true for me at the moment I'm really lucky and can go to the beach here because it literally goes on for miles so you can always find a quiet part with no people at all. Apart from that I'm not going out and because my health means I'm high risk I won't be for a long time and as a result I have found now more isolating than the start of lockdown.

I remember the first time I read a book in English. (My first language is Greek.) It was I'm ashamed to say Twilight. I was reading it on my computer and I had a dictionary app installed and looking up words in it every 5 minutes. In the end, I gave up knowing every word in the book and that was when I finally managed to read a book in a foreign language. I was so excited that I did it and I re-read the entire series so many times just because I had nothing else in English to read, even though I knew it was bad.

I was in jr. high in the late 1980s / early 90s and back then we had some longer bangs that we would curl with a curling iron and basically shellac with Aqua Net hairspray, then you brushed them out and got this huge feathered layered look... Haven't had bangs since then because I hate having my hair in my face, but I would be so on board with whatever interesting styles you come up with. I'm so jealous of your beautiful long hair. Mine is dark like yours but no longer very thick and I can't wear it that long anymore.

J’aime bcp Alexandre Dumas. Le pire livre que j’ai lu en anglais c’était the taming of the shrew de Shakespeare. Pourtant, je le connaissais presque par cœur en français mais je comprenais rien de rien en anglais!!!

Good morning or Good evening, I speak French and just like you tried to read a book written in French I too want to learn how to read and understand English books, especially American books because your authors are really original.

Videos/reviews in French sounds like a great idea!!! ^_^ I have studied French in university for more than 5 years at this point and unfortunately my French still isn't good enough because I can't practice the language with anyone (no opportunities to speak French in Toronto)... I'd love some videos in French if that is part of your video plans! It would be cool to hear and understand the more 'natural' French -- and not textbook French, which is what I tend to sound like... Anyway, love this vlog!

Emily don't feel bad I can't speak French any more. I used to speak it all the time when i was younger because my grandmother only spoke French.

I read The Count of Monte Cristo (in English) last summer and enjoyed it very much. I used Wikipedia to help broaden my knowledge of some of the allusions I wanted more information about. I look forward to hearing more of your thoughts. Stay safe, and be healthy.

The movie for monte cristo doesn’t do the book justice at all. The book is so much more intricate with more deception, intrigue, and complex plots. It’s mind blowing!

"It only took me two months!" Hey, look at it like this, it took me two years to finish Words Of Radiance! I had to turn to the audiobook to get through, Sandersons books are daunting!
