Matty, I just gotta say that this channel is fascinating and I really feel like you are providing something really unique because it is so rare that someone is really knowledgeable in some aspects of popular media (video games, comics, etc), yet has so many gaps in movies and TV. A very online person such as yourself usually knows a lot of movies as well, so it is very interesting seeing you dig into a lot of this stuff for the first time. This is truly a rare thing so it almost feels like this very unique experiment, and again I'll just say it is very fascinating to watch. Don't be discouraged, keep it up!

Matty, ignore the negativity. I enjoy these videos because I almost get to relive the excitement I had watching these movies when they came out through your enjoyment of them for the first time. This one in particular. I remember going with my friends in high school to see this on opening night. It was also exciting because it was the first time any of us had seen the Mazda RX-8. This was my favorite X-Men movie of all time till first class, then days of future past, then Logan. Don't get wrong. I still like this film. The music alone is worthy of a watch. And the scene where Magneto escapes prison.

X2 is still my favourite movie of all time. The Whitehouse fight with Nightcrawler to the underground base in Alkaline Lake with the fights there mystique power sliding down the hall with the middle finger is brilliant.

I’m absolutely loving this channel and your videos, it’s a bummer that some people are being condescending about it. Im sometimes shocked at some of the movies you haven’t seen but that’s what makes this channel fun lol! Hearing your thoughts on classics that have eluded you like Jurassic park or Matrix is really fascinating and I’m looking forward to seeing your reactions on future classics! Also great video! X2 is also one of my favorites. I’ll admit that the X-men films are hit or miss for me, they have high highs and low lows in my opinion. I think 5 of the X-men films are excellent: X-men (2000), X2 X-men United, X-men First Class, X-men Days of Future Past, and Logan.

As someone who was reading all the X-Men related comics from the mid-80s through the mid-90s--including the Classic X-Men reprints of comics from decades previous--these first two X-Men films were like a dream come true. Sure, I had (and still have) complaints about a lot of decisions made on a narrative level (some of those kind of get addressed in the second trilogy), but compared to the complete lack of decent adaptations of my favorite comic book characters we'd had up until that point (and the constantly declining quality of even TV classics like The Incredible Hulk series as it devolved into TV movies... and the horrible Captain America movie that was going to be a huge 50th anniversary celebration of the character until it was delayed, delayed, delayed and then quietly dumped onto home video where it wasn't even worth the price of renting it when finally watched)... The action and effects still stand up pretty well today. And the cast is great all around. (Not perfect, but great... so much talent that there's an argument to be made for how much more could have been done with some more daring writing). They were ahead of their time just enough and did set a pretty high bar for anything else that would be done. And then there's the third X-Men film... but you'll be getting to that next, I'd imagine... ;)

This is tied with Days of Future Past for my favorite movie. I've seen it innumerable times and still love it as much as I did the first time. It's basically everything I look for in a superhero movie. Simply awesome, and it was great to see that you liked it, too!

This movie is full of just the best X-Men scenes in the whole series the Nightcrawler scene in the White House Magneto's escape from the plastic prison the Wolverine going berserker on thr soldiers because military breaks into the X mansion Pyro throwing fireballs at the police cars Storm creating tornadoes in the Blackbird to take out military jets and of course the fight between Wolverine and Lady Deathstrike this movie is chock full of awesome scenes

Skipping The Last Stand will confuse him once he gets to The Wolverine and Days of Future Past. Even skipping X-Men Origins Wolverine would make jokes in the Deadpool movies fall flat.

Never really liked X-Men movies, something is missing for me. (Maybe, because there is lack of Gambit) I much prefer X-Men The Animated series (except X-Men '97, because for me it might be the worst X-Men related piece of media ever) and X-Men Evolution.

X2 is so goated. This was one of most influential comic book movies for me growing up so watching someone discover it later in life and to learn they love it as much as I do is great to see. I'd love to hear what your thoughts are on the main theme of the movie composed by John Ottman, I love the 90s theme but whenever I think of X-Men the X2 theme always pops into my head. I also recommend you check out X-Men The Official Game if you haven't already. The story bridges the gap between X2 and The Last Stand and it'll definitely give you that Nightcrawler fix. Great video!
