For the hair slap bracelet thing, you sandwich the hair between the two parts then use that to hold it while you wrap (think curling iron) then twist the slap bracelet into shape

The twist/rope braid is VERY easy to do. You just twist both strands to one direction and then twist them the opposite direction. So twist them to the right, then cross them over each other to the left. The crossover ensures the twist stays twisted like a rope. Hopefully that helps

I was a "vegas valley clogger" (i legit clog danced in those windbreakers the kids have as a costume nowadays) but one year, I think for our Disney performance, had a claw clip pony and a scrunchy one like you remember. But I was a "sun in for hair, baby oil for skin" raised by a cali beach bum dad (i sure miss him) so the hair would always be a drastic color difference than show hair 😂 but it'd only start when the clearly fake hair peice started 😂😂😂 That hair peice is still at my step-mom house, I think lol

@caroleberreur95852 ай бұрын
For it not to come undone, you twist two equally divided sections in the same way (so not twisted towards or away from each other), THEN, you twist them together but towards each other/away from each other. It holds! 😅

I used that twisty thing on all my Barbie’s hair before I learned how to braid. I always called the pony tail looper a topsy turvy like what Low called it. A big thing I remember was making friendship bracelets with embroidery string. There was also a way to make them in your hair and they would stay all summer until you cut them out

Crimpers were really big in the 80s. I had one and always crimped my hair until I got an 80s perm 😂😂😂 I had one of those topsy things too and still do have one (not the original I broke that one 😂). Fun tip - use the smallest topsy tail to wrap a ponytail in hair. Put the hair into the hair tie (band?) and then slide the topsy tail pointy side down into the actual ponytail holder so it’s hanging out with your hair. Then take a small piece of hair from the ponytail and wrap it around to cover the tie. Then thread it through the loop on the topsy tail and pull the hair back down through the ponytail holder. Easy way to dress up a pony. I use mine once a week. I love that we’re cool again.

I still have my hairigami from back in the day! Still use it when I need a pretty updo. Also I bought a twist machine, similar to that one, a couple of years ago, just for an easier way to style my curly hair. There's definitely a learning curve to using one again, but it does make doing a full twist out a lot faster.

The threader is meant to wrap around the hair entirely and not do a spiral or a tinsel. It meant to slow you go slowly down to wrap all your hair under the thread.

My favorite hair gadget ever as a kid/teenager was the Conair geometrics. It was a curling iron that did crimping, spiral curls, triangle, curls, straightener, and I think it even had an oval shaped tool. I honestly regret ever getting rid of it!
