I would dye it orange. It would hide the yellow stains, compliment the brown, and be a perfect piece for fall.

Before dying, you might try lifting the stains by soaking it in 1/4 cup of Blue Dawn (or whatever strong grease cutting dish detergent you have there), and a cup of white vinegar. Let it soak for at least an hour. Wear gloves, because the detergent will dry out your nails and hands. But that combo has pulled so many stains out of secondhand clothing for me, it’s ridiculous. It even got red wine out of my boyfriend’s favorite white golf shirt.

I think you should just dye the stained dress in tea. It will darken the top and the flowers without really affecting the dark brown of the skirt.

I worked as an art director at a renaissance faire and we used coffee to make white cotton more period. It’s darker and yet not a brown outcome, just works faster than tea which is very light after all is said and done. Your idea is good for hankies made of light linen cloth. Coffee would look harsh on light weight fabrics. Just a note added to yours for more ideas.

When you plant anything, make a circle, square around it with pebbles, bricks, stones or 4 small sticks and some sort of rope tie it around and label it with something weather resistant. That way, you will always find where you plant things.

The stain can be removed with Oxi clean, if you don't have it, you can used baking soda and peroxide. Soak it with hot water overnight or longer and you will see the stains disappear. Make sure the color from the skirt of the dress doesn't bleed.

For the no sleeve dress, if you haven't gotten rid of it yet, what you could do is buy a fabric that will go together with the dress and take it to a seamstress to add the sleeves. That's what I do when I like something a lot, I change the style to my liking.

I collect colanders from the thrift store for my bulbs. Put the bulbs with soil covered in the colander in the ground. It is easy finding them in the ground that way. I leave the bulbs in the soil in the colanders once I get them out the garden and let the plants”die” in the loft. Then in the hole in the garden where the colander has been, I put an annual plant or other colander with bulbs for the next season.

I love your clothes and plan on ordering a couple. I have to chuckle at the mini dresses. I grew up in that Era and a true mini in at least 10" above the knee. I'm very tiny and love vintage clothes especially from the 60's to the 70's and have a hard time getting clothes small enough to fit.

Good to see you. You're a busy person, but nice to take some time to show us your progress. I like the way you light up when you try on the cute vintage clothing. You do it so well. Looking forward to seeing the progress on the house.... Oh, and about the stains on that one dress, i would just toss it. You have so many usable garments in that haul, that I wouldn't go to the trouble and expense to try to resurrect it. If you do decide to dye it. Brown is all you can do, but the stains will still show.

I was wondering whether you had to pull the bulbs too. I've left mine in the ground in Alaska with much success. I think if the stains don't come out after trying stain removal then a mustard color would look stunning. I absolutely love the dress that you love w short sleeves. Why don't you keep it? You could totally wear it w a long sleeve shirt under or with a seater like you styled it. It is for fall so either would be appropriate and likely, if looks so unique and perfect for you!!!
