Most weighted blankets have a cover that you can take off of the insert and wash! Its the insert that is heavy not the cover and the cover looks like the insert because they have to be tied together at so many points so it doesn't slip inside it

Anyone who has PTSD these things are a miracle. I'm a Gulf war vet who suffers from PTSD I take medication for sleep but the addition of the weighted blanket has been a godsend. I would say that it's definitely something any person with PTSD who has trouble sleeping might would want to try.

maria G I don’t think it is necessarily a reason to say no to the blankets, but rather something to be aware of. I always make sure my cat is above the weighted blanket before I go to sleep. Even if my cat nuzzles under my comforter (usually on top of the weighted blanket) she has never been able to get herself under the weighted blanket. Just definitely make sure to check the position of the cat before going to sleep.

It took me a while to adjust to mine. It's 18 lbs. I've had it a year now and find so much comfort in it. I can't sleep peacefully without. It's like the weight presses the worry out of my mind and calm into my body. If you struggle with anxiety, I'd highly HIGHLY recommend one:)

I got my machine-washable weighted blanket (15 lbs coz I’m petite) from Amazon for $45 because it was on the Deals of the Day. So happy I finally pulled the trigger on it. I had the same experience as her. It took one or two nights to get used to it. Also, to people who are saying it’s unhygienic to not use duvet cover or top sheet, calm down. Mine has this fleece type feel to it’s really nice and soft so I’d rather feel that than a normal sheet. And I wash it once every 7-10 days. I don’t get why people are so critical about sleeping habits of other people.

I feel you! I’ve been an insomniac all my life but it’s so much better now in my 30’s than it was in my 20’s For me it was all about habits: Screen/hyper regular bedtime week and weekends/bedtime routine. And accepting that i will still have some. My solution: don’t stay in the bed! Stand up, read or clean and back to the bed. Hope it helps anyone :)

I used to struggle with falling asleep but once I set a consistent sleep schedule, yes even on weekends, stopped eating food 3 to 4 hours before bed and started exercising regularly my sleep issues have dramatically reduced.

Germany, Russia, and the middle east all have one of those heavy blankets. Honestly, you can almost always find them in a big wooden closet, we call them blanket closet since the closet was filled with a large variety of blankets. I love heavy blankets. I sleep with a normal blanket that is nice to touch, a winter 1 layer blanket, and lastly a very thin blanket on top. I am not sure why though.

0:34 I use to struggle with that too when I was younger. I used to stress out about it as well. Then I just started staying awake getting more things done. Finally realizing I don't need as much sleep as what is considered normal. 4-6 hrs a night, and I'm good. Anything more, and I'm tired, and groggy all day long.

One example would be that i imagine that im fishing at a still lake, picture the scene, the type of rod, the color, the type of string, the color of the string, the hook, the bait, how I tossed the bait into the water, imagine the scene under the water, how a fish go for the bait how the fish got hooked, how you try to pull it up, u pull it up, unhook it, place it in a net, replace the bait and toss it into the water again. Rinse and repeat. You will probably fall asleep soon. It just need to be simple, repeatable and you just need to imagine the details in this simple situation.

I got mine for $25~ on Amazon. They're great, and I would (personally) say they're as great as the video portrays them as, but not for around 300$. Hop on Amazon or your local Target/Walmart, and trust me, it's not that hard to find a good quality blanket for something _way_ more reasonable.
