That girl watching you film yourself on the train lol. Btw, next time you try jerk chicken and rice and peas, buy it from a Jamaican take away, not a Nigerian / Ghanian place. You'll notice the difference. I'm British Jamaican. You can't beat authentic Jamaican food.

It wasn't a fail as you got to eat a generous portion of delicious rice & peas, fried plantain and jerk chicken from the local Caribbean community! Yum yum! 😋 I did giggle when you arrived and said "let's see if I can find some Manchester tarts!" 😅 I found another Pie & Mash place for you in London, this one in Hoxton called F.Cooke's. You need to come down on the coach and sample some Cockney fayre before it's no longer available. You don't have to try the jellied eels, but a freshly made meat pie with 2 scoops of mash and parsley liquor is a must ASAP! It's David Beckham's favourite! 🇬🇧👍 P.S. You could've tried an Eccles cake from Salford in Manchester. I love them!

Not a fail, man. You salvaged it again with a nice jerk chicken with rice & peas with fried plantain. It was just a tart anyway. Maybe during your inquiry to the counter attendant at that shop on the tart as he got into more of a conversation, it could've been asked to him if he recommends something else from their bakery section to try. Another fun trip!

We used to get that served up at school back in the late 60's early 70's usually made in a tray and cut into squares then a generous scoop of hot custard on top, I used to ask for an edge or corner piece because I loved the pastry. As others have said, you maybe could have tried a lanky hotpot like Betty used to make in Rovers Return 😂😂

I live about 6 miles from the centre of Manchester, and when you said you were coming over here to try Manchester Tart, I thought, well, good luck with that. Didn't expect you to find it. It's very much a school dinner thing, and it's really nice too. I hope you bringing this to light inspires bakeries, cafes, etc to bring this back. Next time you come over this way, a recent local delicacy (About 10 or so years) is a Manchester egg. To my shame, I haven't tried one myself yet, even though I'm certain I'd love it. Not for everyone, but definitely my kind of thing.

@ianlivsey72002 ай бұрын
@@williebobs3830 No mate. Seriously. I'm 65 myself, and from Ashton. Basically, it's a scotch egg, except it has a pickled egg instead of a regular hard boiled egg, and instead of sausage meat alone, it has black pudding and sausage meat. Something different about the coating too, though I forget what. Apparently, they were first sold at a pub in Oldham Street (I always forget the name), and you could have them served with Vimto relish (As Vimto is a Mancunian thing too). I kid you not fella, google it.

Such a shame - you could have just popped on a tram to Bury and you would have had plenty of options for a Manchester Tart (assuming it was market days - Wednesday, Friday or Saturday). Gorton Indoor Market does a decent Manchester Tart as well and that is just outside the city centre - that would have been open Mon-Sat as well. Manchester is becoming gentrified and the old school Mancunians are becoming a bit like the old school cockneys (pushed out to the extremities). Go back 30 years you'd have been spoilt for choice in the city centre for that tart.
